Sorry disagree about Boxxer.

Whether you like him or not Frank W arren has to be regarded as an outstanding promoter. The amount of big names who have fought on his shows and his remarkable ability to survive crisis after crisis plus his longevity in the sport puts him very near the top in my view.

Hearn for the most part because Warren, without Fury, pushes some awful fights on us, sells domestic level guys as world level and uses Hearn's name for clout. However, since AJ lost, Hearn has been pushing Benn on us as his next cash cow despite being against has beens and never beens. Hearn's US work still keeps him comfortably above Warren though but I wish he would promote the likes of Okolie as much as he does Benn.

What about W arrens longevity in the sport does that count for nothing?

This.
And added to that the late finishes, the long waits between fights on a card, and the lack of swing fights.

Warren was an outstanding promoter. He’s not anymore as things have moved on. Just because he’s stuck around and survive a crisis doesn’t mean much when judging who’s the best promoter out of the 2 of them. Hennessy is still going (I assume anyway!) - is he a good promoter? I’d say not.

Don King is still promoting. He was possibly the best ever boxing promoter but he isn’t anymore.

Eddie is a much better promoter than Frank is now. You take Fury out of the picture with Frank and I genuinely can’t remember the last time he sold out an arena for a show. Also if you look at the output on BT sports this year it’s been pretty abysmal.

Eddie’s promoting shows pretty much every week. I think he’s taken his eye off the ball in promoting his U.K. stable but it’s Boxxer that have made headway whilst that’s happened and not Frank. We’ve had our most successful Olympics in boxing ever and there’s a reason why none have gone with Frank.

Longevity is good, but if you're talking the last 5-10 years, Hearn has done better than him..

Warren has just put on one of the biggest boxing events ever and him and BT absolutely nailed it. So he's not done. But his output has been fairly rotten the past year.

Hearn did an unbelievable job in creating stars and feuds and great fight nights for years from 2012 onwards. Really good period to look back over even as he became more unsufferable.

Right now however, his constant stream of bull is at total odds with what he delivers.

I've come round this year to realising that the biggest force for good in terms of pro boxing in this country is actually Sky Sports.

Whats his 2nd best UK fight for the year so far? Its been very grim outside out of fury for frank lately.

Sky has been the best outfit for building prospects, and they have some good ones. i think boxxer will really gain some momentum over the next couple of years.

Fwanks got fury, joyce, yarde, DDD. but is struggling to get any of them to fight on his cards very much.

Hearn by a country mile.

Warren has been an arse over the years to the fighters he's ended up in court with, and the threats to supporters of boxing that used forums etc.

And Arum had just as much involvement in the Fury/Whyte fight, it wasn't all Warren.

Yeah - I never quite get why boxing fans are anti-Sky Sports. They’re the only network that has consistently supported boxing and they’ve ramped up their support for boxing since Boxxer started with them (particularly on social).

Whilst I thought the Fury/Whyte show was great in the spectacle (I must have seen the Fury running to the ring clip 10 times since the fight), I don’t think it was promoted particularly well. Few of my general sports fan mates actually watched let alone paid for it. Tyson is the best self promoter in boxing and it was great they sold Wembley out but I think Warren being fairly quiet on PPV numbers is a bad sign. Them talking about 300k US buys and 1.5m U.K. buys was delusion.

While a great spectacle, the fight wasn't competitive. The gate was probably fantastic, but the PPV's in the UK certainly weren't the 1.5 million Frank was claiming (may not even have reached a million? Unsure), nor were they very good in the US by all accounts. The undercard was woeful, and but for Nick Ball's fight it probably would have been an absolute disaster. What's your basis for suggesting they nailed it?

Hearn is number 1 and has been for a while.

However in the bigger picture FW is ahead because of longevity.

If Hearns keeps it going for another 15 years he will be ahead on all counts.

Hearn all day, every day. Not least because I don't think I've ever heard a boxer complain about payment issues where he's involved.

This one was easy ,, , who is likely to pay late or not pay the full amount , ,, Who is likely to end up in court with me through non payment , Who is bitter enough to hold you to a contract while not giving you any work , who will has used legalitys to sue a boxer of his lifes savings , who is so used to suing and using courts to his own advantage he knows every loophole , , WHO I;ll let you all guess that one

Has Fwank got Fury ? I thought Whyte was his last fight of his current contract. Immediately after knocking out Whyte, Fury looked at Frank and then kissed his forehead in a way that said “thanks but goodbye”. If he does come out of retirement and fight the winner of Usyk v Joshua 2, is Fwank really gonna be the one promoting that ?

Re Boxxer, they’re a fledgling outfit, whilst initially I was dubious of Shalom, I’m beginning to respect his positive and encouraging attitude. However, there’s a country mile between Boxxer and Matchroom, the latter dominate the global scene and have by far the best stable of fighters.

Hearn has not had one lawsuit regarding payment to fighters against him to my knowledge and takes criticism on the chin even when youtube interviewers push him.

Bunny has had multiple lawsuits regarding payment to fighters and libel due to his emotional immaturity and inability to take criticism - interviewers are afraid to ask him difficult questions for fear of being banned.

Hearns not perfect and he's a salesman so you take whatever he says with a pinch of salt. But for the reasons above he's an infinitely better promoter than bunny for me. He bucks the trend of promoters in that regard and I respect that a lot.

Its subjective of course but for me Hearn is more palatable and often the BS is quite entertaining.
FW comes over so effin slippery and untrustworthy and I find him really irritating - now surprise he has been shot !
Shalom / Boxxer too early really to say anything as they havent had many shows yet .

Hearn is the best promoter but he no longer has the best platform backing him (Sky).

I expect Ben Shalom to make big progress over the next few years and as said above, Sky Sports are definitely a force for good in the sport. Their coverage and reach is unmatched.
