In terms of safety for children in boxing, I'd say far more fiddlers are coaches at gymnastics, tennis , swimming than at any boxing gym.

As a kid we used to do drills constantly heading. One was to try and hit the crossbar with a header off a soft throw at the each of the penalty box - basically to try and generate as much power as possible.
As with boxing it’s probably the stuff in practice that causes the bulk of the damage.

Chris used to be a regular at local amateur shows, where any talented kids knew they had an opportunity to impress. I've always felt that boxing's one of the easiest sports to get noticed in if you're good.
Bellew took great issue with how his sport was portrayed and opted to air his frustrations with McCabe.
“The fella’s a wanker, he hasn’t got a clue about boxing,” said Bellew on IFLTV.
“That tit head is talking about the sport that’s saved so many lives, mine included and basically labeled us as barbarians, idiots and punchy people.

One point that Bellew took particular issue with was that brain injuries can be a serious concern when looking at boxing.
Of course, this is absolutely a fair point to make but Bellew believes that it’s an unfair comparison when compared to other sports that also have a high rate of brain damage.
“Talking about brain surgeons… Are we going to stop race car driving? Is that what we’re going to stop next? Are we going to stop the NFL? Because just as many people end up brian damaged and dying in those sports.

Alejandra Ayala has been brought out of the induced coma she has been in for two weeks or so following her match against Hannah Rankin. Her recovery will be long and slow.
Professional sport should be banned IMO. I've said that for years. It serves no good. It promotes gambling, excess, cheating, and the promotion of stuff that doesn't matter. Amateur sport is great, though, for children, teenagers and young (under 25) adults.

Also no one seems to have mentioned that a possible brain tumour was found on Ayala’s scan PRIOR to fighting Savannah Marshall….they still let her fight Marshall. and the Board informed the Mexican commission afterwards. There are some articles in Mexican papers. You would have thought that knowing this the board would be nervous sanctioning Ayala…..
