Looking at more recent guys who haven't won world titles, Cheeseman, Kerman Lejurra(sp)
Great value but I bet would be going back to the day job if retired.
Most at feather and below, Ingle, Brodie, Steve Robinson, Scott Harrison spring to mind. I don't think Robinson is skint but I bet I
His legacy is much bigger than his wallet!

Cheeseman is a master businessman by all accounts. Also a recovering gambler who has lost fortunes.

Is there any fighter that we can name that has a legacy but no money?

Julius Francis has/had money but no legacy (Im presuming by legacy we are talking about a resume that includes a notable world title belt?)

From where im sat... Legacy = Money. if we are talking about the last 20 years or so.

Holyfield. Lost most of his cash. Has a huge legacy.

Difference between earning cash and losing it. Holyfield has a magnificent legacy, he has also earnt millions. His financial collapse is generally down to himself as it is with most fighters. gambling/booze/women/drugs..... these are the things that make you skint.

I wouldn’t believe a single fighter who said they valued legacy over money. If you gave them the choice of a better legacy but it meant handing back loads of their earnings, none would go for it.

Think for the most part legacy and money go hand in hand , I mean you won't get too many doing 6 -8 rounders for whats peanuts compared to the big earners worrying too much about legacy ,, and when the said guys get to the stage / if they get to the stage they pull big crowds and earn the top dollars ,,, then its usually the public who carry on about there legacy .

But first and foremost its about MONEY ,, lets have it right i've said it many a time , its the managers job to get the fighter the easiest fight for the biggest payday ,,, Its the promoters job to put on the hardest most exciting fights and pay the least money
But once the money and the big fights have happene , course then think about your legacy once your rich , but climbing the ladder and earning the dollars should be your first objective

Money.

The only reason to chase legacy is if you're trying to go down as the very best there ever was or something. In today's era of Boxing that's simply impossible because guys don't and really CAN'T fight often enough to ever achieve something like that.

That being said, the 2 go hand in hand. The more revered your Legacy, the more money you're gonna make generally speaking.

Sometimes you get paid more money to fight an easier guy, but not a lot.
