Glen Mccrory, turned pro at heavy with a string of wins before the wheels came off in spectacular fashion.... Dropped to cruiser, and went on a winning run, culminating in the IBF world title, moved back to heavyweight, and got crushed by Lennox.
Re: Cruiser weights that failed at heavyweight?
I think his first 4 or 5 fights were at Middleweight.

I think guys who are successful moving up in weight arr the ones with superior speed and skills, who aren't reliant on being bigger, stronger and more powerful than their opponents.
Not a heavyweight, but Danny Green was a huge puncher and very durable at super middleweight and light heavyweight. Towards the end of his career he couldn't make 175lb anymore, but the jump to 200lb was a bridge too far for him - his power and chin weren't so special at that weight.
