He's a genuine boxing fan and surprised me with his knowledge & range.

Not an easy guest to control because he is overflowing with so many stories, opinions and questions....Dixon probably did exactly the right thing and go with the flow, but jumping in when he wanted to ask questions.

At times it felt like eavesdropping on a phone call between two mates just talking boxing, going back and forth.

Yes it was like overhearing them chatting, his knowledge was impressive

Just listened to the Chris Byrd one and personally I think it’s the best one yet, if not right near the top. Having watched him a lot through his career and never really appreciated him, this has given me a whole new perspective, such a likeable guy and a crazy, sad, funny and I think incredible story!

I'm halfway through that one. Really enjoying it! Cool dude. What a career he had given his size. I do find it slightly disconcerting that his speaking voice makes him sound like he is on the cusp of either laughing or crying at any moment, but I'm very much appreciating what he has to say.

No he spoke a fair bit about the amateurs and shared some good stories, but that gem was missed, I wasn’t aware that happened.

It's not 100% it happened, I was more looking for confirmation, I think it was from a medical card floating around that Byrd got stopped in 2

It’s possible he fought all over on the international circuit, he also had siblings that boxed internationally it could of been one of them?

dont know how true it is, but john scully i think it was, said that bryd and calzaghe were orginally supposed to fight on a wales/uk vs usa type show, bryd pulled out late notice, then joe stopped the replacement. but since bryd was originally scheduled and his name was on programs etc it went around that he was the one stopped

tbh, it's been a question mark in the boxing community for a long time, wouldve liked for him to be asked about it

The John Ryder Pod is a really enjoyable listen. Out of all the active boxers interviewed it's one of the best.

Know Richard quite well. Spent a lot of time with him when he sparred David Haye. He spent a few weeks at Hayemaker HQ.

I followed Mesi's career since he was in the USA box-off's for the 1996 Olympics (way back in 1995). An entertaining fighter with explosive power and plenty of grit.

Joe speaks clearly and honestly about his career (amateur and professional). Very refreshing to hear compared to the boxers who talk bollocks and have a shed load of excuses.

I normally skip the US ones as far more interested in the British scene but agree the Mesi one was really good - incredibly articulate guy and amazed he hasn't got any commentary gigs on the strength of that.
Thought the diBella one was good as well, esp. his thoughts on Hearn!
