Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last

Too slow.
Dent boxes his head off.
Dent boxes his head off.
Re: Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last
I think Joyce is overrated on here. First top 6/7 fighter he faces beats him up.
Joyce criticising Joshua for getting beaten up by a cruiser when forgetting what Usyk did to him makes me believe he believes his own hype a little bit too much.
Don’t think he will ever be a world champion unless he gets a vacant shot vs a spud or gets Charles Martin in an IBO contest.

I recall that fight well, it was my first look at Uysk.
He ran rings around Joyce, boxed his ears off- and since that fight Uysk has got better, and from what I can make of Joyce from his 3rd tier matches, Joyce is about the same.
So yeah, it rankled me no end to hear him mouthing off about AJ losing to a guy that beat Joyce conclusively
Lost a bit of respect for him about that, kicking a fellow countryman while he is down is an arsehole move
Re: Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last
To be fair to Joyce he had had about 20 fights when they met and Usyk was well into treble figures.

Sorry to query your opinion with actual context.
I think Joyce is a much tougher fight for Usyk than Joshua will ever be.

Re: Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last
usyk decisions jj handily i think, i dont think jj would get to him enough to make the size and strength count. i think a constant mauling come forward style like chisora's actually makes usyk work harder. joyce is more measured and stand offish, and usyk will have more time to find openings to move
Re: Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last
Ok, fair enough. I hope we get to see it.
Their pro resumes are a bit different though.
Uysk cleaned out the Cruiserweight division, won all four belts, defended them, and the Ail Trophy, then won 3/4 heavyweight belts and is odds on to win the rematch.
Joe Joyce beat Stiverne.

Joyce is a clown. First time he comes up against a top , he gets schooled. He moves with glacial slowness.

That is true, but it's also a bit deceptive. He is slow footed, but he can fire off punches with power and accuracy. He has caught out almost every opponent by giving them the false sense of security to open up - then he pops them. He also has the chin to take a decent shot, which helps a lot when he can't quite move out of the way in time.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 12:22 Joyce is a clown. Of course I doubt that will work on the very top guys, and we will have to wait and see...

Re: Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last
When I saw him in the Olympics I thought he was too slow, lacked power, and most of all lacked aggression. At the time, I'd have bet on AJ to stop him in the pros.
But since then I feel like most other pros have shown weaknesses and/or regressed, while Joe's improved and been reliable in what he brings. His mental strength and chin seem world class. I think he'd give Fury a horrible night, but that Usyk could find a way past him if they meet again.

yeah it's probably a bit too subtle for some
Re: Joe Joyce and Susie Dent together at last
Joe is a tough fight for anyone in the division in any era.
My biggest fear is he ships too many right hands early in a fight with a big puncher. JJ v AJ would be a great fight. As would JJ v Wilder and JJ v Ruiz.
