Frank said yesterday they were looking to keep the July date for Joyce and an opponent would be announced in 48 hours.
I think we both know this won't happen.

I’ve got a hotel booked near Wembley for the 2nd for Joyce v Parker (I made sure it had free cancellation as anything is possible with Queensbury at the moment.
Will keep the hotel for now on the off chance Joe fights but we all know it’ll be someone like Nick Webb, Kash Ali or some unknown.
Damn disappointing but expected.

Which? The July 2nd fight or the Parker fight?

I think the July fight still happens but against a poor opponent. Who knows on the Parker fight.

Joyce should fight in July. If he waits for September and then something happens that's a year wasted.

I agree. Chisora Vs Kownacki is the kind of level he can still pick wins up at and have good fights. Whyte and Parker can still have respectable fights against Wilder, Joyce, Pulev, Ruiz, Bakole, Sanchez, Hrgovic and more which we'd be interested in.

So Parker pulled out because there’s a 1/10000 chance that his trainers wife will have a baby in a specific 2/3 hour slot?

fornicate sake. Have someone like Sugar or John on standby for that potential event that is unlikely to happen.

Poor from Team Parker if true. Might not get another chance.

But he wants to fight Whyte in the same timeframe anyway ?

They could have brought it forward a month or a few weeks. Not entirely sure of his logic here.

I think he pulled out because of the rumored WBC vacant title tournament.
Fighting in a final eliminator for another belt would probably keep him out of it.

I would like to be hopeful for an opponent like Pulev, Ortiz or Kabayel. Someone that would ask some questions but realistically isn't a top and expensive opponent as that would be very unlikely. Realistically, the best we can hope for is someone like Demsey McKean or Simon Kean.

Won't be much. I'd actually make it someone not overly durable... Don't want Joyce agrivaging that bad wrist. Just bang someone outclassed out to keep some momentum.

If I'm wrong and he wants a real fight but still not too risks, Nathan Gorman would be a fun matchup.

It looked like Lartey was simply waiting for the first decent shot to take that dive.

At this trajectory, Lartey is likely to knocked out stepping out of the changing rooms in his next fight.

Could do without ever seeing him again tbh.
