there's war all the time since forever sonewhere. people get shot all the time since there are guns available.
are all the fighters that got weapons/violence related middle boxing a.k.as/nicknames like 'machine gun', 'bazooka', 'hatchet', 'executioner' etc. etc. suddenly not used anymore?
i mean wtf???
calls him 'tank' but is feelin'some type of way when davis makes a stupid 'glock' joke?

The Texas shooting only happened a week ago..adislav123 wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 08:13there's war all the time since forever sonewhere. people get shot all the time since there are guns available.

Too bad Adam Smith wasn’t there.
He would have cleared the whole thing up.
Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Rolly Romero | Showtime PPV - May 28, 2022
Davis could have won that fight almost anyway he wanted to. He chose to go safety first unfortunately for boxing fans, but he still got his big finish. If Tank had been more offensive, forcing Rolly to open up, he'd have got the same results and probably earloer. There was really only one way this fight was going to end.
Time for Tank to take on one of big names at 135. I still think his Cruz win will age well despite the close nature of the fight, but it's time for him to make the big fights.

For once the Compubox stats make sense.
The guys landing less than ten shots each per round
No wonder it was so dull.
Things have to improve with Davis- opponent quality, punch output, and just general activity.
His last two fights have taken the shine off for me somewhat.. Maybe he only fights to the level of his opponents?

And in that case he'll always kinda suck because his opponents always suck.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:04 For once the Compubox stats make sense.

Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Rolly Romero | Showtime PPV - May 28, 2022
Like I said, the shine has gone off him for me a little. The guy can be the most entertaining lightweight on the planet, but what I have seen in the last two fights is a lethargic, low volume guy. He could have finished a guy of Rolly's calibre in two rounds, that would have been more entertaining than 4 rounds of only landing less than a dozen punches per round, a better 5th, and a merciful one punch stoppage in the 6th. I was a bit bored by the 4th.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:07And in that case he'll always kinda suck because his opponents always suck.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:04 For once the Compubox stats make sense.

Lightweights should be landing 20+ shots a round each, that's why they are good to watch.

I kinda wish there was another like aggressive banger for him to square off against at Lightweight, but really everybody around for Tank to fight is all slick boxer-mover type guys. So we might get more of those kinda fights, action-wise (or lack thereof) unfortunately.
That being said, I'd finally be able to give him credit if he legitimately beats any of the real top guys in his vicinity.

Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Rolly Romero | Showtime PPV - May 28, 2022
I could see him getting out worked to a decision by all the top guys, but I could also see him knocking them all out too- which is what makes it so intriguing.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:20 I kinda wish there was another like aggressive banger for him to square off against at Lightweight, but really everybody around for Tank to fight is all slick boxer-mover type guys. I hop he gets a go at a belt next time out, and a proper belt, not a pleather belt.

We all hope that.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:27I could see him getting out worked to a decision by all the top guys, but I could also see him knocking them all out too- which is what makes it so intriguing.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:20 I kinda wish there was another like aggressive banger for him to square off against at Lightweight, but really everybody around for Tank to fight is all slick boxer-mover type guys. I want to be clear. I know it seems like I always criticize Tank (and I do), but that's not because I think he sucks. It's because I think he IS good, and just like everyone else I just want to finally see HOW good. Whether he can or can't beat these guys really makes no difference to me. I just want to see what happens when he fights 'em.
I'd definitely finally have something more positive to say about him if he beats any of the guys we've been calling for him to fight for the longest.
Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Rolly Romero | Showtime PPV - May 28, 2022
He has HOF potential I think. If only he would settle at a weight and clean it out- which below 140, I think he can.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:31We all hope that.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:27I could see him getting out worked to a decision by all the top guys, but I could also see him knocking them all out too- which is what makes it so intriguing.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:20 I kinda wish there was another like aggressive banger for him to square off against at Lightweight, but really everybody around for Tank to fight is all slick boxer-mover type guys. I don't like him outside the ring, I think he is a petty thug, but inside the ring he is exciting (except the last two fights).
Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Rolly Romero | Showtime PPV - May 28, 2022
I personally think we'll see why he's been so protected once he ever fights a top guy, but that's exactly why it needs to happen. I think he'll suck. Many people like you believe he's the real deal. There's only one way to find out what it really is.
Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Rolly Romero | Showtime PPV - May 28, 2022
Rolly reminds me of Khan. "I was ahead before I got KTFO".
Honestly I don't think Tank beats Loma or Stevenson, and I think Haney beats him too. Not sure about Ryan Garcia.

interviewer alluding to the shooting just made that situation more awkward and brought more attention to it, maybe he has a network directive to respond as he did, but i think ignoring the comment would've been better. insensitive comment, but obviously tank didnt literally mean he'd shoot those guys to death

Yeah Teofimo is a Boxer-Puncher, but he's definitely a banger.BROZO wrote: ↑30 May 2022, 02:33Teofimo?gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 15:20 I kinda wish there was another like aggressive banger for him to square off against at Lightweight, but really everybody around for Tank to fight is all slick boxer-mover type guys. Tanks a 130. Mabey even a 126. His power is great but the best bit of him is his speed and reflexes.
This K he can compete at 135 but it's not his division. (Much like Loma)
