Ortiz prob too strong, guess we’re all thinking that as Ava has shown weakness before, and Ortiz hasn’t …

I don’t think I watched it, but I saw someone say that Josh stunned Ava in their fight, is that right?
Yeah - he recovered fairly quickly though.

I’m already buzzing for this and they haven’t even announced it. I think Ortiz will be too good and that Ava is a little overrated. Reminds me a little of a welterweight version of Pavlik/Miranda.
Thanks, just seen it, Left hook on the button and he didn’t see it coming; took it well though, and more a good sign than a bad sign. I have to say Kelly looks absolutely world-class when the going is good, and heavy puncher too.

I agree. Ava took the shot well and recovered quick. Certainly wouldn’t hold that against him.

Re: Kelly, I think if he’s allowed to fight at his own pace then he looks great but he’s not particularly good under pressure. He throws hard with pretty much every shot and against a pressure fighter that’s a quick way to get badly fatigued unless you’re able to properly discourage them. Ray Robinson, who’s a good fighter but nothing too special, was able to pressure him and outwork him and I actually think Kelly was fortunate to get a draw.

Yes, Josh a great on top fighter for sure..not so much when under fire

Really hope this fight comes off, the type of real fight Connor Benn can only fantasise about

Yep, won’t be a great look now if Benn fights another opponent with little ambition.

When I saw the thread I just hoped that it would be in somewhere in the UK and I would certainly have been there.
As it is I'll definitely tune in.

David is a big enough name a tough enough competitor for Ortiz ,,, yet Benn still claims he's well above David ,

Thats correct he did go into 50-50 fights he did put it on the line in a few of them ,, But take off your British head and contary to public opinion , he never fought the best of his time , no James Toney or Roy Jones on his resume ,, so i'm not convinced like some he was one of the best ever British ,, however he could certainly fight he was entertaining ,, its just that bully persona he projected i did'nt like ,,, wherass Eubank i liked him i used to like watching him being interviewed , he was certainly loopy but it was hard to tel if it was an act or not , but he was always polite . Its just personalities you like em or you don't .

But Connor , i went from watching him with interest to thinking this kids gonna be good , to a total dislike for the fella , i do want to see him get beat , and to be honest i want to see another Brit do it not a big name yank with zillions behind him for sparring partners full time trainer ect ect ,, ,, I'd like to see a British level fighter get his chance to put him in his place

Good fight. Ortiz had to pull out due to a bad weight cut last fight... Im assuming they will have an absolute top notch team to make weight this time, nutritionest, water weight cutting experts, the lot. If Ortiz Jr has a bad time making weight he could genuinly lose this.

Still sounds like they don’t have a deal over the line for this.

Oscar said over the weekend that Ortiz signed but they were waiting for Ava to sign, Eddie said in an interview yesterday that he heard it may not be happening (probably just stirring) and Frank admitted that they’re still essentially negotiating the deal.

Hopefully they can get it over the line.

I think Ortiz looks the serious goods ,incredible skills ,precision and power for his age

Boxing a strange sport. Avanesyan crying out for a big fight and when he gets one it doesnt happen. Maybe FW got other plans.
