At 140lbs, I would pick Aaron Pryor.
At 147lbs and above, I would pick the great Wilfred Benitez!

Benitez, handily if it's best version vs best version.

Better overall ring general, would be able to deal with the pace. You heard it here first,...Pryor was way over hyped. And Benitez probably was never hyped (or
guided) enough. This is not near as close a matchup as faded memories, and folks who focus on records would have you believe.

Benitez had so much success so early on in his life, and did not have the strategic support he deserved for such a young and gifted talent.

Pryor was very carefully managed, and given Elvis type management, and it worked right up until he himself self destructed despite getting every advantage a fighter could get on a professional guidance level.

Spot on. Well said. :TU:

I think the Alexis Arguello fights elevated Aaron Pryor. If you look good at his record, the ONLY 2 great wins are with a washed up 34-year old Antonio Cervantes and a soon to be taken great Alexis Arguello, who was fighting in his fourth weight class.

Benitez definitely could outbox Pryor, but with his chin and Pryor's relentless pressure and huge power it would be highly possible to see Pryor knocking Benitez out.

Possible is the key word. But not probable. Unless they fought over and over again....until Lady luck arrived.
