According to the July 25, 1980 The Pensacola News, Cervantes was measured at 5'8.5" following a workout in training for the Pryor bout.

If you watched the Benitez fight, Cervantes was actually 5'9, 5'9 1/2 or 5'10" while Benitez stood at least 5'8" at 17 years old back in March 1976.

Actually, if you watched the Cervantes vs. Pryor fight itself and if you paused while they were standing for a few seconds, Cervantes was like 3 or 4 inches taller than the 5'6 1/2" Pryor. Most of the sources say Cervantes stood 5'9", which sounds right or taller at 5'10" depending on some other sources.

The article I referenced talked about how he had been listed usually at 5'10" or 5'11" but his actually height was confirmed by getting him measured when reporters were present.

chances are that benitez and pryor were actually a bit shorter than listed too

Sometimes, other articles are a little too sketchy and Cervantes looked tall in the super lightweight or light welterweight division at between 5'9" and 5'10" sounds right to me like I said before.

Benitez was measured at 5'8" in his shoes by the NYPD when he was arrested.
