Elite Fighters Who Don't Have a Good Chin?
Now that Amir Khan's retired, I'd say none.
There, that was pretty quick.
Boxing is too tough a sport to get to the top without taking at least a few good shots along the way.
Or is it?
In the past some claimed that Wladimir Klitschko had a suspect chin.
What say about Lennox Lewis?
Knocked out twice before he traveled to the Kronk to learn the art of defence.
Some might even say Anthony Joshua is chinny but
I'd disagree. It more seems to be a case of him remaining buzzed a little longer than some.
Fury on the other hand has been down many times but so far always managed to get back up and recover.
Then there's the likes of Canelo and GGG who have never been down. Canelo did touch canvas against Bivol, but that looked like a push.
In fact perhaps the only true great, elite fighters with a suspect chin might have been the superlative Roy Jones and Tommy Hearns.
Hearns is auite rightly a legend, but the possession of an iron jaw was not among his many strengths.

Whyte’s legs always show.
I mean sure, he can take a shot.. but he doesn’t recover quick and gets floored by the uppercut.

Floyd Patterson?
He hit the deck a good few times in his career and was also brutally KOd on more than one occasion, yet, no doubt, he was an elite fighter.

Btw. I think the OP was taking about current elite boxers.

I thought so too, but then they mentioned Hearns and Jones Jr after saying there were no more left nowadays.

No it's fine, any elite fighter will do.
It's just that I got to thinking that most of the top boxers seem to have good, if not great chins.
Everyone gets clipped at some point.
We know Joe Joyce has a good chin, Usyk too.
Yes, Floyd Patterson was definitely an elite fighter.
On second thoughts, perhaps I was being a little harsh on Roy Jones Jr and Tommy Hearns.
Roy had a good chin at MW and didn't lose til he got to LHW, and Tommy the same at WW.
So basically, there's been hardly any elite fighters who didn't have a good chin.
However although having a great chin isn't everything, it can get you pretty far.
Ask George Chuvalo who fought Ali, Frazier, Foreman without getting stopped but did win against Cleveland Williams and Gerry Quarry.
Is that elite?

Current elite fighters?
Can't think of any guys in the top tiers.
They usually get found out at title level if they face a genuine champion and not just a vacant belt.
As mentioned, Dillian Whyte has lost a lot of his punch resistance, but it isn't enough to call him chinny just yet.
