Two title fight wins that aged well were Marcel UD Arguello and Locche UD Cervantes, with both Arguello and Cervantes later winning titles and becoming HOFers

You mean like Usyk beating an already damaged goods Joshua ?
That aged well by the next day. Now he's the second coming of something.
But maybe he needs to beat a few more live guys. I dunno.

Clearly he had a chance. Everybody has a chance.
He would have had less of a chance with a pre-Ruiz Joshua but we'll never know for sure.
But how does that win make him an ATG right now in your mind ?

Because of his previous wins and domination of the CW division when it was on fire?

hmmmm.....i could sworn some dudes were saying he had no chance lol. i dont think it makes him a heavyweight atg, though i think he's a cruiser atg, #2 after vander

not sure how that fight is remotely relevant in this thread though, it was a big win straight away and neither fought since

Looks like we essentially agree. Usyk is not an ATG and not better than Evander.
Talented but not as good as the fan boys made him out to be after that fight. (Thread subject).
Also, I admit that I did not think Joshua was as messed up in the head as he turned out to be.
My bad.

thread subject isnt who got overrated for a win, it's what win wasnt valued at the time but later looked more impressive due to the subsequent accomplishments of the (usually) losing fighter. i should know what the threads about....i did start it

wouldnt say aj-usyk fits that since the win was highly valued right away, rather than being seen as little to nothing. nor has either even fought since to improve their standing. doesnt meet the very basic criteria
