i mean still though, that's pretty good if fury's the #1 of all time. first fight you could say was close with the kds even if fury deserved it. wilder with big kds and hurt him late in fight 3 too.

must get wilder up there if he managed this vs the goat, success across multiple fights

First fight wasn’t close. And Wilder had 4 moments of success in around 30 rounds; you could save big Deontay won maybe 5/6 rounds max.

wilder maybe won a couple rounds outside the kd rounds - some of those early ones had not much in them defo weren't decisive for fury. something like 114-112 is perfectly reasonable, draw was hardly the worst decision ever. fury was about 1 second away from being stopped in that one too. looked out of it and was on the brink of defeat.

multiple kds , yet again, in fight 3 isnt some little insignificant thing. the goat was in trouble there too

i mean, surely that rates pretty well if fury's the goat? wilder was like a second off from koing the goat and officially drew with him. where would you rank big D then? top 10, 20, 30? or not quite up there

and tbf, head to head, i'd rate fury high historically as well

though len is one i defo would take over him. i think a lot of the old time greats who are highly rated, fury would just be too much though

One day I’ll make time and try to do a horse-like top 50 of all time. Just for you.
Then try to not kill myself when it gets ripped to pieces.
All these discussions are pretty pointless. You can’t realistically compare generations.
Old pudenda on here go for the likes of Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Frazier, Louis, ect… whereas young studs like me always favour the likes of Lewis, Tyson, Fury, Audley, ect.
It’s impossible and you can debate it forever. No one’s right or wrong though.

Tell me the British level heavies of the 80's who were the same class? Neville Meade? Hughroy Currie?

But if he could have fought a PRIME of the following … would have Tyson prevailed…

Ali draw
Foreman fury win
Frazer fury win
Holmes fury win
Mike Tyson fury loss
Lennox Lewis
fury loss
very subjective !

We have this topic month after month.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. But I'm closer to the mark than best ever heavyweight of all time.

A thread you could go round in circles with forever but everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Wouldn’t make a 1970’s top 10 for me, never mind and all-time top 10. And that is not diminishing his prowess as think he beats Joshua and Usyk handily, as would many a boxer from yesteryear.

I simply don’t rate this HW era, which is another topic that could go round in circles.

The worlds demographics have changed, which particularly effects boxing. Across all weights I’d favour boxers of the 70’s and 80’s over the current crop (with exceptions) but too convoluted and complicated to try and explain.

Fury has an ATG skillset. His CV doesn't compare with older fighters but you can say that about almost anyone.

I don't see any fighter having an easy night with him.

With his size and skill set he's certainly a match for any heavyweight in history, he'd be in with a shout against anyone... But I agree with the previous post about "what actually happens on the night", and obviously that's impossible to tell with any serious accuracy.

The number of world level fighters Fury faced is 5 I think. It’s a very low number to base a GOAT on.

There’s a difference between judging someone on ability and who they have/or who they can fight.

Resume vs skillset is completely different.

His resume is relatively weak but his overall skillset is superbly strong.

Chin.
Ring IQ.
Strength.
Versatility.
Heart.
Jab.
Power.
Confidence.
Boxing skills.

He rates pretty highly out of 10 in all those facets.

Fury is objectively the best HW since Lennox Lewis and he's undoubtedly in the same class with such fighters. Yet he needs something else to prove this once and for all. The Usyk-Joshua winner gotta be a must-have scalp for him.
