Smith’s been after a British title shot for around 6 months. Had Maxwell drop the belt around purse bid time and then Ennis Brown pulled out too. I’ve never heard of O’Maison but I’m glad they’ve found someone eventually who’s willing to take the fight.

I’m amazed if it’s a proper headliner though. I can see them doing it as a NextGen style show but if they put it in the arena then the place will probably just be a quarter full.

The title wasn't that long ago contested was it? If compared with Joyce for example.

I dislike it when promoters essentially persuade the BBBoC to let their fighters have an easy touch for a vacant belt.

It also shows how fractured the sport is between various promoters in the UK, and how the Lonsdale belt is no longer as prized as it should be.

Think they would struggle to fill Ponds Forge arena as good as Dalton looks he still hasn’t captured the Sheffield public quite yet with boxing everywhere but Sheffield , Kid Galahad has never sold tickets so unless they try to con the public & put Terri Harper on as top of the bill .

I’m sure they would have tried to get several of those fights but fighting a quality, reasonably unknown young fighter isn’t that appealing for some of those guys. Maxwell vacated to then go on to lose for the IBO and Ennis Brown rejected it. I can’t see OD or Ritson wanting the fight.
