Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Charlo vs Spence or TC are what boxing fans want.
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
And how often do we get what we want?
Don't answer that, it's too depressing.

We'll get Crawford vs Spence. Can't wait. Mell will run from Bud if Bud wins.tiny_acres wrote: ↑01 Jun 2022, 20:26![]()
sad but true
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Probably, unless he wants to cash out, it's the biggest money fight I can think of.
Can't wait for Crawford Spence either
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
tricky think charlo at the moment coming of a good win, tim looked good against hogan still not taken in by him, he is big and powerful not sure he is slick enough could see charlo ko him

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Is it? Boxing fans clearly want Spence vs craw... but after that? id rather see the young blood get a chance.
Welter undisputed vs Boots ennis. Superwelter undisputed vs Tszyu. Both exciting young tallents, if there good enough they get sprung into superstardom, if there not they can come again.
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Why in the hell would he not fight Tim its the easiest fight out there for him , ,
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Does Tim have fans, though? Seems like a nothing fight for Charlo. Moving up to fight Munguia or Eubank Jr. would be far more lucrative in terms of eyes and money. Plus, if Spence Jr. beats Crawford, they already stated that they're on the downlow so they won't fight each other due to their romantic involvement.
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Its Australia ... Boxing is not a real big sport here , BUT Tim v Charlo , in Sydney would probably pull 30 000 , and sell on ppv , Aussies love there sport and will get behind there sportsman , on top of that sky here are more than willing to rip of punters with PPV ,, then you have the govt who will sometimes back big shows , has long as the ring side seats are forecoming , and pictures are took ,, Charlo would probably make more fighting Tim here than what he would in his home town ,,,
Its not many made it but the ones who have captured the publics imagination have made plenty out of what really is a nondescript sport in Aust ,, Mundine ,, Green ,, Horn ,, Gallon (rugby player just having a crack ) Kosta ,, Fenech ,, and probably Tim himself , not to mention the rumor is KKambosas stands to make around 10 mill for his Haney fight ,,, Aussie just love there sport

It looks like this fight will happen, November or December.

“The Charlo/Tszyu fight is going forward,” Gustavo Olivieri, lead counsel for the WBO informed BS.com, confirming an earlier breaking news report from ESPN Deportes’ Salvador ‘Chava’ Rodriguez while on site at the International Boxing Hall of Fame induction weekend in Canastota, New York.

The winner of this will probably have to face Bakhram Murtazaliev (20-0, 15 KOs), the IBF mandatory since November 2019.

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
interim WBC junior middleweight titlist Sebastian Fundora (19-0-1, 13 KOs) Is also waiting..
Can become champion instantly if Charlo vacates.
Then we have..
Israil Madrimov (8-0, 6 KOs). He became WBA mandatory after a controversial stoppage win of France’s Michel Soro..
They’re having a Rematch.

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Is Tim really such an easy fight? I remember what he did to his compatriot. Didn’t look like no walkover to me?
Is this the same "aussie can't be be any good" misconception that was going on before the Teo vs Kambo fight?

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
If Tszyu wins, will it be the only case of father and son being both undisputed?

Charlo should move up at 160-168. He drained himself a lot at 154. Its crazy how he made the weight that long time. Tim may be for Mell what Kambo was for Lopez.

Yeah, gotta be counted.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 13:15Leon Spinks was undisputed in the WBA WBC era
Cory Spinks held the WBA WBC and IBF really before the WBO was widely accepted if that counts

Eh. They are trying to make a big deal out of Lopez being weight drained just like they tried to make a big deal out of David Reid being weight drained but yet he never did anything at heavier divisions. Teo is an idiot, he'll find a way to not succeed at 140, mark my words.apollo creed wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 12:37 Charlo should move up at 160-168. He drained himself a lot at 154. When exactly was the WBO belt accepted?

Corey Spinks became undisputed on Dec 13, 2003 vs Ricardo Mayorga.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 14:33Was that around 2004-2005?DrDuke wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 13:26Yeah, gotta be counted.tiny_acres wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 13:15

WBO became major a bit later. There's an opinion of Hopkins vs De La Hoya for all 4 belts being the ultimate decider. The fight was on Sep 18, 2004.
However, Zab Judah, who won Spinks, was considered undisputed in 2005 without WBO.
