Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu | Showtime - Postponed
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
I believe Tim is out of his league here and I give him a very slim chance of victory. Given his style, I think it’s likely he gets stopped. I like Tim but I feel Charlo is bigger and better.

Terrence Crawford is a pretty smart fellow. He reckons that Charlo wouldn't be the hardest fight for him to take. Is he wrong? If not then how can Charlo also be this mean lean killing machine that is simply going to destroy Tszyu?
I've never bothered to watch this Charlo fellow fight, maybe I should before making many more comments but this is the guy who is scared of Benevidez and Crawford.... can he really be that great?

Out of curiosity, why are you accusing Jermell Charlo of being scared of Jose Benavidez and Terence Crawford?H8Usernames wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 18:53 Terrence Crawford is a pretty smart fellow. If you really meant David Benavidez, then surely you realise that Jermelll competes two weight classes below him?
And in terms of Terence Crawford, Bud competes at a lower weight class and no one has attempted to make that fight.
Jermell hasn’t received an offer to face Crawford, which is understandable, because Bud doesn’t have a promoter and nor is he aligned with a network.
I really don’t understand all this “scared” śhît you keep talking about?
And if you claim to have never watched Jermell Charlo compete, then why on earth would you choose to criticise him?
Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Crawford calls out Mell, calls him a pussy. Mall calls out Crawford saying he'll fight him at 154. Too funny.

why the hell would mell be scared of him? he hasnt won a fight in 4 years. his peak was 8 years ago at 140 and he's best known there for getting a generous decision over mo herreraBandog wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 23:29Maybe talking about Jose Jr? Was that around 2004-2005?
When exactly was the WBO belt accepted?
WBO became major a bit later. There's an opinion of Hopkins vs De La Hoya for all 4 belts being the ultimate decider. The fight was on Sep 18, 2004.
However, Zab Judah, who won Spinks, was considered undisputed in 2005 without WBO.

Yes. It's pretty obvious Mall is afraid of D Benevidez, and Andrade. Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Jermell Charlo must defend against Bakhram Murtazaliev next
Dan Rafael has a copy of a document that Jermell (35-1-1, 19 KOs) earlier this year, stating that he would defend against his unbeaten IBF mandatory challenger Bakhram Murtazaliev (20-0, 15 KOs) next if he successfully got past WBO champion Brian Castano in their rematch.
Rafael’s copy of the document Jermell Charlo signed promising to face IBF mandatory Bakhram Murtazaliev.
The logical question is, how could Jermell not be aware that he’d already signed to face Murtazaliev next, and couldn’t fight Tszyu until after that.
It’s unclear whether Jermell will take the fight with the 29-year-old Murtazaliev, who currently resides in Oxnard, California, or if he’ll vacate his IBF strap and take the match against Tim Tszyu next.

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Jermell may have already negotiated a step-aside, he could be planning to vacate his IBF strap or the WBO might have subsequently agreed with the IBF the sequencing of Charlo’s defences (with the WBO being next in line).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 05:27The logical question is, how could Jermell not be aware that he’d already signed to face Murtazaliev next, and couldn’t fight Tszyu until after that.
The WBO and the IBF will inevitably receive more revenue through sanctioning fees if Jermell faces Tim instead of Bakhram.
But also, it’s likely that Jermell is planning to vacate soon anyway, meaning he’s under no obligation to face Murtazaliev.

How in the world is murzlaive or whoever that is mandatory. Never been in a meaningfull fight... boxrec dont even have him top 50.
Bonus , although Has a blank weight in his most recent fight, in the 4 befor that he only made 154lb once.

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - WBO Mandatory
Having watched just the least bit of these two athletes it sort of looks to me like neither is anything special. Tim Tzyu looks like he has more power of the two while Jermell is faster and a bit wild. With both these men having such unique styles I sort of think that this might be the perfect fight for a replay of Tzyu vs Hatton with one of these men getting seriously hurt, which one I do not know.
Neither of these men have really been fighting the best competition. Dunno before looking at Jermell and taking a second look at Tim this fight sounded a lot more exciting to me. Know that I know how sloppy it's going to be... it's not as exciting to see.

Looks like it’s agreed for Jan 28..
Weird announcing it 6-7 months in advance.
They could both be out within a couple months.
No location. Maybe Aus.

Yeah I think it'd be wise for Tszyu's people to get him a tune up bout. Nobody too, too dangerous obviously, just someone to sharpen his skills against, and keep active. All this sitting around don't do guys any good.
Tim Tszyu wins the fight I think when it goes down.

Tim Tszyu Warns Jermell Charlo: I'm Hunting The Lion, Fight Won't Go The Distance!
Unbeaten junior middleweight Tim Tszyu is expecting a knockout ending when he faces IBF, WBA, WBO, WBC undisputed world champion Jermell Charlo.
Tszyu is the mandatory challenger under the World Boxing Organization.
The Australian star traveled to the United States back in May, to watch Charlo unify the entire weight class with a knockout victory in his rematch with Brian Castano.
There has been chatter through media circles that Charlo and Tszyu will collide on January 28, with Las Vegas as the frontrunner city to host the fight.
Tszyu will enter the ring against Charlo as a very big underdog.
“In my eyes, I can’t see how I’m the underdog,” Tszyu told the Herald. “This is the definition of being great for me, this is it.
“People can doubt me all they want, the experts can say what they want. When we get in the ring, it’s me and him. I’m coming hunting with a spear. And the spears are my two hands. I would say I am self-motivated anyway; I don’t need someone to tell me ‘You can’t do this’. I know what I’m capable of. I see this guy, OK, he’s a good fighter, he’s achieved this, he’s been a world champion since I’ve been pro. This is a new era. I am the new era.
“I’m going hunting now. He calls himself a lion, but I’m hunting the lion. There’s going to be a lot of tension, it’s going to be a big build-up, a big fight. Everyone has got a weakness; everyone has a breaking point and it’s all about exploiting that. Preparation for this will be key, my mindset is key. The game plan has to be 100 per cent spot on and it will be. I get all of that right, the fight doesn’t go the distance.”

Re: Jermell Charlo vs. Tim Tszyu - January 2023
There's more than just undisputed status on the line! Tim Tzsyu 'could pocket $10MILLION per fight' if he beats reigning super welterweight king Jermell Charlo as Aussie star bids to become his country's top-paid athlete
- Tim Tszyu is hoping to pocket many big paydays after beating Jermell Charlo
- The Aussie takes on his American rival for undisputed status next year
- Should he win, he is expected to earn $10m per fight moving forwards
Tim Tszyu is aiming for his crowning glory early next year, and the spoils of war extend far beyond all four super welterweight belts should he triumph over Jermell Charlo.
The 27-year-old will take home at least $2million from his bout on January 28 and if he gets the win over the all-conquering Charlo to win the four major belts, he is expected to earn $10m per fight.
'I've always dreamt about that, this is where I want be and that's the type of money I want to be making,' Tszyu told News Corp.
'That's the level I want to be at. This is what I have to do to be there.'
Last year, Tszyu entered the top 15 for highest-paid Australian sport stars, slotting in at No 13.
Ben Simmons ($45m), Daniel Ricciardo ($35m) and Joe Ingles ($17m) make up the top three, but victory over Charlo could see Tszyu propel himself onto the podium.
Nick Kyrgios is expected to climb the rankings after his superb journey at Wimbledon, and Tszyu's promoter George Rose believes his fighter will be challenging those top spots by the end of next year.
'He's already in the top 15 highest paid Australian athletes now, the wait leading up to this fight against Charlo might push him out of that for the next little period but once he becomes the undisputed world champion, he'd heading towards the top of that list,' Rose said.
'Boxing is the sport that generates the big money, it always has. You look at Floyd Mayweather, he sat at the top of the list of highest paid athlete in the world, Canelo Alvarez, all of the active big-time boxers are the guys who sit at the top of the list.
'That's going to be the same for Tim Tszyu. He likes to fight four times a year, you do the math. If you're fighting four times a year and you're the highest paid guy in the super-welterweight division, the chips are going to stack up.'
Tszyu is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his father Kostya, who became a multi-millionaire during his glittering boxing career, but the youngster is not getting carried away just yet.
'It would be like de ja vu,' he added.
'But I'm not even close yet to what dad did. I was having a look at his record, he had 13 title defences, he beat 13 of the best out there, in a row.
'No Aussie has ever done. Jeff Fenech went up three weight divisions, but to defeat 13 world title fighters, it's unheard of. And that's why he's in the Hall of Fame.'
