Surely this is a senario for yarde where you leaverage your aleged contract for step aside money and a shot at the winner of Bivol vs beterB...

hopefully.......bert-yarde is a fine stay busy type of fight, but it aint worthy of cockblocking the undisputed battle
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Joe Smith Jr. - June 18, 2022
Anthony Yarde can`t take that kind of heat, he`d be best advised to swerve a fight with Beterbiev at this point.
Beterbiev`s power is off the charts.

"A state of total disorder" according to the search engine. Which to be fair, applies to both me and our favourite sport.

Lol at expecting Joe Smith not to have that strategy. Smith's only shot was to get into a firefight with Beterbiev and pray. That was it. Beterbiev is a refined amateur. You're telling me Smith should've tried to outbox someone he had no chance of outboxing.Shambles wrote: ↑18 Jun 2022, 23:34 What a fornicating shambles of a performance from Smith. Couldn't defend, went to to toe with the more dangerous fighter. Gormless, useless performance. Shite.
Bivol, in my opinion, would give him a good fight though. He's not stupid enough to stand so close with no defence and no actual proper tactics.
He'd do what he did against Canelo (taking in to account the fact that Canelo and Bert are very different fighters) and out box him. With very few problems, unless he gets careless.

it is shambles, but when it's on it's awesome

Why is Yarde even being brought up? Dude is a nobody right now. Lost to some Euro-level dude a while back.

in a way, for a fight i was crazy for, it was a bit of a let down, over so quickly and uncompetitively
on the other hand, that is the type of special beastly performance that makes up for it. bert bert bert!
and smokin joe, dont let this be the end. you'll still batter most dudes out there in fun fashion. i want to see you rise again!

he's the wbo mandatory and arum and warren seem like friends with benefits right now. someone reported a deal has already been done for that fight
it was almost silly seeing yarde on commentary for a bit, as if he's a big star. seemed really out of place. people prob wondering who the f@ck this guy is! don't tell anyone that old kov ko'd him with a jab
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Joe Smith Jr. - June 18, 2022
Haha I can tell you're North American. He could have tried something else. It was clear early that a firefight wasnt working. And it was a stupid tactic to do that in the first place.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑18 Jun 2022, 23:42Lol at expecting Joe Smith not to have that strategy. Forget fwank and bobs romance, what the fuk is with Fwank and the WBO.... How is yard mandatory again...
He got an undeserved shot vs Kov and got stopped > then a 3-40 guy, and del specman. >Then lost to a 1 armed lyndon arthur> Then beat a columbian thats been knocked out 8 times (neither fighter at light heavyweight) > Then beat lyndon arthur....
After that run, he is in a position to stop the two best lightheavys in the world, both coming of carrer best preformances, who between them hold all the belts, from fighting.

I expected Beterbiev to win, possibly KO, but still surprises me. To be honest both looked fairly slow, (maybe I'm being too critical) but you can't take away Beterbiev's dominant stoppage. Bivol would definitely give him a good fight, and possibly win, but he won't risk that before a Canelo rematch. Who knows? Maybe Zurdo beats Bivol and we will see him vs Beterbiev next? If I was Bivol's promoter, I wouldn't advise him to take any risky fights before Canelo.
I guess we know why Canelo picked Bivol over Beterbiev? Hopefully the crazies that thought Canelo could beat Usyk have came to their senses.

Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Joe Smith Jr. - June 18, 2022
Ive been watching boxing for about 30 years. I've also done some boxing myself, so I'm committed as a life long follower.
Im a supporter of both guys, Beterbiev and Smith Jr. Before the fight, I saw this as close to a 50-50 fight. I knew Beterbiev hits harder, and is a Beast, and has a better technical and amateur background than Smith Jr. No question that Beterbiev is the better fighter.
However, from following boxing, I also know that boxing is a young man's sport. Smith had a chance here, and he had a chance because he was younger.
We know Beterbiev hits hard. We knew he was going to come out swinging. Smith Jr brawled with a brawler and came up short. I do think if Smith could have survived the early exchanges, and boxed a bit more rather than brawl, he might have came on as the younger man in the later rounds.
Moot point tho. Great win Artur Beterbiev. For Smith Jr it isn't over, he can comeback and although he was stopped, he ended the fight on his feet which is important.
Bivol VS Beterbiev would be a Classic and an entirely different fight. Bivol is too skilled and smart to bang with a banger like Smith Jr did. Bivol will box and move and won't be easy to hit. I like Bivol's chances on a decision.

It's understandable if Bivol won't fight Beterbiev before a possible Canelo rematch.
I wouldn't mind Beterbiev being active and fighting Yarde around the time of Canelo v GGG III or even sooner which will give him some mainstream attention. Then Bivol will know if he's getting the rematch or if he can go straight into the unification.
If I was a pro boxer and spent so much time getting into shape for 12 hard rounds I'd hate letting all my conditioning going to waste after a blowout. I'd demand another quick fight even it is at a lower level.

He can fight Yarde, since that is who Uncle Bob wants him to fight. At 35 though, he needs serious fights after that. Don't know much about Yarde to be honest. Beterbiev still seems to be pretty fresh and fit at 35 though.Shirow wrote: ↑19 Jun 2022, 00:46 It's understandable if Bivol won't fight Beterbiev before a possible Canelo rematch.

he's 37 ......which makes it even more important for him not to waste fights

I expected a wreckage of Joe, but not that fast. Beter is a monster.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Joe Smith Jr. - June 18, 2022
Im impressed. Im not saying Artur is a special fighter, but his strength and power definitely is.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Joe Smith Jr. - June 18, 2022
Btw did you guys noticed lately how light heavies with bombs in both hands are calm and friendly outside of ring and interviews, while 130 lbs dwarves acting full gangsta macho and then circling and jabbing in ring. Recently comparing Haney - Kambosos and Beterbiev Smith

LOL, yeah, fair point, I wonder when Beterbiev’s contract with Top Rank expires ? I want to see the Undisputed fight but unsure how it gets madegregregegg wrote: ↑18 Jun 2022, 23:57 Forget fwank and bobs romance, what the fuk is with Fwank and the WBO.... How is yard mandatory again...

A really good two fight card.
The fact that Ram-Nova didn’t even go last 5 as well.
Great shot.
Bert-Smith was a fight from the start!

That was a fun fight. Even if Beterbiev mauled smith, it wasn’t without a valiant effort from Smith. Beterbiev just a superior killing machine.
He let his hands go early. Threw some really nice combinations. That uppercut combo that finished the fight was beautiful. The way Beterbiev came back with the right at an angle… oh man.
