Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Just a quick poll to see how the Brits are feeling. Who you want to win, not who you think will win. Cheers.

Impartial- can’t see AJ winning though
Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Usyk. Because I simply think he is a better all round fighter..
And I don't like AJ much.

Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Not sure, if Usyk's win guarantees us interesting bouts, while Joshua can't win this, so I'm not caring much.
Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Usyk is the much better fighter P4P and undefeated - much better for the division overall if he wins and fights Fury.
If Joshua wins there will be clamour for a third fight (due to the decisive nature of fight 1) - so delaying the big Unification more.

Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
No, Joshua won't fight Usyk again in front of the bigger Fury fight, if he somehow wins Usyk. There're no contractual obligations for the rubber match, so nothing will help it to be. Yet, of course, there won't be a need for it after the repeat.

Think I posted something similar before, but basically if Joshua comes out aggressive and looking for the ko like he always used to, then I’ll be cheering for him. But if he comes out with another “thinking man’s performance” (i.e. stays in damage limitation mode and allows Usyk to box his head off again) then I’ll be cheering for Usyk. Would much rather see AJ throw caution to the wind and just go for it this time. Easy for me to say, obviously.

Usyk. He’s one of my favourite fighters.
Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Oleksandr Usyk for sure. Immensely likeable and I think we’ve seen enough of Anthony Joshua tbh.
Great fun but I reckon he’s on the downward spiral.

Usyk is class. I love him too. Joshua is a bit of a boring robotic d!CK. I just can't take to his humble manufactured approach.
Hoping for the knockout this time!

I’m not arsed if even Joshua doesn’t believe he can win. He has to let his hands go, and I don’t mean with reckless abandon like a maniac.
There was every opportunity to let the right hand go in the first fight and he didn’t. On several occasions he got to a comfortable punching range to fire a left right and backed off with zero ambition.
If he comes out with intent I’ll get behind him. If he’s as gun-shy as the first fight, I hope he suffers one of the more comical knockouts where he goes through the ropes and onto some broadcasters table.

Usyk for me too.
He just comes across as being more `real`, and maybe because he is still kinda chasing the big money.
I`m unsure how the UK has managed to get two of the 3 top heavyweights .. and both the UK guys are so far removed from reality; previously it was the USA who excelled at being such things.

Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Yes that's true. However, what I meant was that in the eyes of the public - if Joshua has eeked out a close decision (or even a widish decision) there might be still a view that the best heavyweight in the world isn't partaking in the Unification - especially with what is going on in Usyk's country.
Unlike Ruiz vs Joshua 1 where there was a hint that 1) Joshua wasn't right and 2) It was a sort of lucky shot when he was on the verge of being stopped himself which changed the fight. The decisive nature of Ruiz vs Joshua 2 meant no one was looking for fight 3. I think whatever happens really in this fight if Joshua gets the win - there will be at least calls for a 3rd match - whether Joshua wants it next or not as the first fight was so decisive in Usyk's favour with no excuses really. I think if Joshua catches Usyk early - it won't be a case (in the eyes of the boxing experts) of "this is what Joshua should have done in fight 1" but more a case of "did Joshua catch Usyk a bit cold and got a bit lucky there".
It was such a decisive win first time up that Joshua doesn't deserve the rematch - so I want Usyk to win. Just like Wilder didn't deserve a rematch with Fury or Whyte doesn't deserve a rematch with Fury.

I cannot believe that one of the top 3 heavyweights has such a shit boxing IQ.tonyevs wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022, 09:04 Usyk for me too.

Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Fans of both. Tough one. I kind of want Usyk as he's the smaller guy. But AJ winning would be great for boxing over here and give us AJ-Fury. Push comes to shove I voted AJ.
Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Neither boxer have shied away from good opposition , so except for sort of favoring a little towards Usyk purely because he's the smaller guy , i don't mind which one wins , , i do think if one wins by a big margin ,, stopage or points , the loser will be offered Fury

Those in your bubble tell you something you want to hear, and everything else is just your ears and eyes lying to you.

Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
Boxing is an individual sport. I’ve never understood why anyone would support an individual man over another just cos they have the same nationality / birthplace. It seems akin to racism to me. I will be supporting Usyk cos he’s a better boxer, and his country represents the rebellion against the tyranny of fascism
Re: Who would you prefer to win: Usyk or Joshua?
AJ purely because I'm supporting my own country. He won't win though not a chance.
