This is gonna be a pain to sort out…. My gut saying weirdly Taylor needs this more than Catt.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - Who wins?
Excatly , agree 100% I have always liked Taylors style and intensity , something he seemed to have started to lose after starting with Mr Brylcream wonderboy ,,,, But you may have noticed i'm not a big fan of mr wonderful , always thought he was nothing more than a glorified fitness trainer , ameteur fitness trainer at that , with good contacts ,,a force wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022, 16:13 I think Taylor needs a new trainer personally. Shane McGuigan summed it up after the Catterall fight, Taylor’s a pressure fighter who needs to use his size & strength to bully his opponents. It’s barmy that Taylor came away from the Prograis fight telling people he needs to box more & not get involved when he’d just put the performance of a lifetime in as an underdog.
The warning signs were there in the Ramirez fight when he gave away the majority of the second half of the fight & both Taylor & Davison looked puzzled that the fight was close when in fact the scoring was pretty fair. As soon as he started boxing on the back foot he started losing rounds.

Josh Taylor: Catterall Coming Across a Little Desperate, I Wouldn't Be Moaning Like Him!
"He's coming across a little bit desperate," Taylor told Sky Sports. "I can understand where he comes from, he felt like he won the fight, I'd be disappointed as well.
"But I wouldn't be moaning and groaning the way he's going on and on, it's just ridiculous. I can understand how he's feeling, he felt like he won the fight, I felt like I did just enough to win the fight so it was a close fight, it could have gone either way, the judges gave it to me. The way he's acted since and the way he's coming across on social media makes me want to shut him up. It's one of the main reasons I stayed at 140 so I could get that fight.
"We're doing everything we can in our power to make this fight happen alongside the Zepeda fight as well. If not after the Zepeda fight then next. This time around the motivation is there which I never had the last time, the motivation is there because of everything that has happened since the fight. Hopefully the sooner the better for me. The only reason I'm staying at the weight is to fight Catterall."

If I was Catterall I’d stay away from Taylor now and go my own way and let that cloud stay above Taylor for his entire career and beyond.
He’s ranked highly in 3 of the orgs and top 15 in the other. Taylor fights Zep then probably moves up.
Can see Catt getting another shot within the next 12 months without Taylor.

That’s Ramirez probably ruled out of the Benn fight.

Taylors embarassing himself.
Everyone knows he lost. Now he's mouthing off on Twitter while the whole world knows he's ducking the rematch.
Spineless. Cat gives him brown poo stains in his tartan panties

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - Who wins?
Taylor has lost 2 of the belts now.
WBA and now WBC.
Surely Catt will be on better purse this time around and also pay less on fees.

Taylor wins handily.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - Who wins?
think taylor ,looked out of sorts in the first fight , wants to go back to what he does best, he looked lacking confidence in the fight, catterall deserves his rematch

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - Who wins?
I wonder if Catterall, a Probellum fighter, will be able to fight on Sky. If he does, I’m also wondering if Sky will put it on PPV. It’s a much bigger fight now than the first time around as most people thought Taylor would win comfortably.

Josh Taylor: There's Nothing Stopping Catterall Rematch From Happening Now
WBO, IBF junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor insists that he's ready and willing to face Jack Catterall in a heated rematch.
They met in the ring back in February, with Taylor getting dropped for the first time in his career and pulling off a controversial twelve round split decision.
Taylor had issues with the tricky boxing style of Catterall, who entered the ring as the mandatory challenger under the WBO.
In the aftermath, Catterall demanded a rematch take place as soon as possible.
Taylor - who at the time held every world title at 140-pounds - was hit with two mandatory orders, from the WBC and WBA.
The WBA ordered him to face Alberto Puello, while the WBC ordered to fight Jose Zepeda.
Taylor, who vowed to face Catterall in a rematch to set the record straight, would walk away from both the WBA and WBC belts.
Now that he's removed the mandatory orders hanging over his head, Taylor believes there is nothing left to prevent a rematch with Catterall from taking place before the end of the year.
"I was going to have to fight Jose Zepeda in August or September and that just isn't possible with the wedding only being a few weeks ago. There's no way I'm prepared to go into a fight not being in the best shape," Taylor explained to the Edinburgh News.
“But the reason I'm also doing this is to get the Catterall fight. It's a chance to shut people up and show that I am still the best in the division. There's nothing stopping this fight happening now. I've done everything I can to make it happen so it's now over to Jack. But I won't wait around for him."

Josh Taylor on Catterall: “If It's Not Next, I Will Do It Down The Line, But It Won't Be At 140”
“I want the fight, to revisit it, to show everybody up,” Taylor told iFL TV. “ revisit that bad night for myself, put it right. If it’s not next, which is what I really want, I will do it at some point down the line. But it won’t be at 140, though, if it’s down the line."
“Going [into the fight] I was just sh!t,” Taylor said. “I was crap. Couple of injuries in camp, I came in too heavy. I wasn’t motivated as well. It was just a bit of everything. It was a crap performance.”
“It’s on his side,” Taylor said of his fight offer to Catterall. “Not any response yet. I’ve done all I can do. At the same time I’m not gonna wait around. I’m in the good part of my career. I want to be involved in big fights. I’m not going to pause my career and put my career on hold because of him.”
“Get your finger out your ass, man,” Taylor said, “and hopefully we can get this fight on.”

If he could just be saying that anyway.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - Who wins?
All the fighters he's looked so good against are aggressive. Maybe a slick southpaw counter puncher is his kryptonite.Dioufy wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 17:35For him I feel he performed badly. Look at him vs Postol, Davies, Baranchyuk, Ramirez and Prograis.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 17:24I wouldn’t say Josh didn’t perform well, Catt just out worked him.Dioufy wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 16:51 Josh did not perform well whereas Jack performed out of his skin. Both won rounds (Jack won more) and I’d guess both would trade rounds in a rematch… I just think a more turned-on, focused and unsurprised Josh Taylor might steal a few more.
I expect a super tight, razor thin fight but Taylor getting 115-113 x3 in a very subjective fight.
Then both fighters move on.
Taylor and his team probably watched Catt’s previous fights and though he’s a bore fighter, gonna make it ugly etc.
Catt did the complete opposite of that. Knew what he had to do in the opponents back yard.
Footwork, distance, timing, variation all poorer. It’s not like he’s not faced a tricky southpaw before. Catt performed good but I can’t see him become a top 3 light welter anytime soon.
Plus Taylor must’ve been a middle on fight night to Jack who probably fights close to what he weighs in at.
Something was missing. I can’t imagine we’d see the same Josh Taylor in a rematch.

Maybe Catterall is much better than previously thought
Maybe Taylor has gone backwards.
Was it just a bad night for Taylor? As with his form Catterall should be straight forward
Or as you said does he have Taylor's kryptonite?
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Jack Catterall II - Who wins?
And Taylor has all the major titles at the weight. Without a huge fan base it will be hard for Jack to attract the sort of money having the belts would bring. I feel for the guy.

Oh I didn't know that. Well there is opportunity then.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022, 07:03Well he’s lost the WBA and the WBC now.
So he has the WBO and IBF and Ring Mag.

This fight probably would have been signed by now if Catterall went to boxxer
