If Canelo will beat clearly GGG and Bivol, do you think he will fight Beterbiev @ 175 on Cinco de Mayo 2023 ?

Beter will be ripe for the picking about that time. Zurdo may get the fight before Beter.

The thing is that Bivol has the same age as Canelo. Also I think Bivol is less worn than Canelo.
Atm GGG III is the biggest money fight at 168 for Canelo. Its a big money grab fight for Canelo and GGG too. Imagine if Canelo would rematch Bivol next and get beaten, then his stocks would go down big time.
Business as usual.

Yes, big money match, but one I don't care to see. Once a boxer hits 40, a guy Canelo's age has a huge advantage.apollo creed wrote: ↑22 Jun 2022, 14:51The thing is that Bivol has the same age as Canelo. Also I think Bivol is less worn than Canelo.

If relatively close, a win over GGG does more harm than good to Canelos legacy, which he claims to value over money. If he struggles to win, I think Canelo retires sooner than most think.

True toprank don't love cross promotional stuff. But for 38 year old Bert, vs Canelo, undisputed I think they would be happy to have Bert fight away and take a %... No financial risk, no work, and a nice some of cash. And if Bert wins they might get paid again on the rematch.
ESPN might not be stoked, but toprank making some easy profit would allow them to put it into other fights on ESPN.
I just can't see toprank openly getting in Beterbs way for that fight may next year, because the alternate at that point is probably Beterb retiring, and toprank making zero dollars off him.

The Golovkin fight was already scheduled.
Gennadiy would want compensating for the cancellation of the Canelo bout.
And GGG-Canelo III is a bigger fight commercially for DAZN/Matchroom than Bivol-Canelo II.
DAZN/Matchroom are paying Canelo $160m to participate in a three-fight deal. They are entitled to have a say in the case whom the Mexican faces and when.
Eddie Hearn almost instantly (after the Canelo-Bivol bout) stated his preference for the Mexican to fight Golovkin next.
So what I’m basically saying is this, you’re assuming that Canelo is in charge of EVERYTHING and that nothing DAZN/Matchroom wants matters.
You’re also claiming that cowardice is the reason for Canelo facing Golovkin instead of Bivol.
You talk as if politics, contractual obligations, business rivalries, risk-versus-reward, and money has no influence on boxing, which is just plain silly!

Promoters, managers trainers want to milk their fighters anymore until big dollars roll in.
Not to mention those pesky tv contracts that throw a wrench into the works.
Frustrating to fans and I'm sure even more frustrating to the fighters

True. Fighting an old fighter like GGG ain't that appealing for us, boxing fans but money talks and a business needs to make big numbers.Bandog wrote: ↑22 Jun 2022, 17:18Yes, big money match, but one I don't care to see. On the other hand , there is no other fighter at 160-168 with a better resume and name than Golovkin. So Canelo vs GGG III is gonna draw some good numbers.
Probably if Charlo, Benavidez, Andrade and Munguia would've fought each other then we would've had a new top opponent for Canelo.
Re: If Canelo will beat clearly GGG and Bivol, do you think he will fight Beterbiev @ 175 on Cinco de Mayo 2023 ?
Benavides vs Andrade is my only hope. Charlo and Munguia blatantly ducked Andrade. Canelo knows Andrade is a horrible style match up for him. Maybe Charlo will fight Janibek? He was calling out Crawford recently, since Bud wanted to fight Mell.apollo creed wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 10:36True. I know Canelo has a refreshing mentality of taking on everyone and everyone. I just feel Artur Berbatev who just have that bit more extra in terms of Motivation knowing it can define his legacy taking on the P4P king combined with destroyer mentality would be the guy that could wreck everything for Canelo.

Some people say that Beterbiev's style is tailor made for Canelo ? Probably bc Canelo is a very good counter-puncher with very good waist and head dodging moves?IRL25 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 15:50 I know Canelo has a refreshing mentality of taking on everyone and everyone. As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about. Canelo had 30 days to activate a rematch clause vs Bivol, that would have been put ahead of any fights, including GGG. Hearn said himself it wasn't just an ordinary clause. Canelo gets what he wants or doesn't fight. Cowardice on Canelo's part? I think in this case it is that he knows, and was rightly advised, not to take the rematch immediately. I doubt if he ever does. Bivol is a better boxer than Canelo, and proved it. Idiots like you that had the fight a draw are why Divas like Canelo are worshiped beyond his skill level, and are paid more than they are worth.

Yup, that contract must have been filled with iron safe clauses by an army of lawyers in the favor of Canelo. Canelo may milk a few good fights at 168. The thing with Bivol is that is the same age as Canelo but with less wear and tear, so Bivol is the fresher fighter.Bandog wrote: ↑24 Jun 2022, 19:15As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about. I think Canelo can activate that rematch clause anytime as long as Bivol is active as a fighter, maybe even after Bivol would unify @ 175 and win all the titles?
We will see. Anyway, as long as the rematch is at 175 with no rehydration clause, it's alright.

So which Hearn do we believe?
He says one thing, then tells Canelo something else? BS Canelo didn't activate the clause, plain and simple.
Canelo knows full well he could have Bivol in the fall if he wanted it. He doesn't have the confidence to win it, so its not happening.

I predict no. Most people know Canelo didn't want any part of GGG when he was at his prime. It was obvious at the time. Bivol is simply better than Canelo. Not a fancy style, but does everything well, and he proved everything he does, he does better than Canelo.apollo creed wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 14:00 Imagine GGG giving Canelo 12 rounds of a hard-rough fight ? February 2016, GGG received a guaranteed opportunity to face Canelo at 155lbs, but the Kazakh rejected it, despite claiming he could beat anyone from 154lbs to 175lbs, coupled with his trainer (Abel Sanchez) boasting about Golovkin destroying world-rated cruiserweights during sparring.Bandog wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 17:53I predict no. Golovkin also called out Pacquiao and Mayweather around the same time period (for bouts staged at 154lbs).
During the pre-fight press conferences for the Kell Brook bout, GGG claimed he was only a small middleweight that could easily compete at 154lbs, but wouldn’t consider doing so if it wasn’t a big fight.
Does anyone want to see videos or would they instead prefer to accuse me of lying, despite the facts I’ve cited being easily verifiable?
If anyone that’s followed boxing for the last decade can’t recall the facts I’ve cited clearly aren’t fans.
For the record, Golovkin refused to face Peter Quillin and Billy Joe Saunders.
GGG also refused to rematch Jacobs and Derevyanchenko.
And finally, GGG’s team never made an offer to Canelo for any of their bouts. All the offers came from Team Canelo.
There’s not a single human being can prove that K2 or GGG Promotions submitted an offer for a fight to Team Canelo, which was subsequently rejected, because it NEVER happened!!!!

Golovkin’s boast’s about being capable of competing at 154lbs are heavily documented.
People claiming that Canelo never wanted to face a prime Golovkin are simply lying.
In fact, a prime Golovkin never attempted to orchestrate a bout between himself and Canelo.
He waited to receive offers and then rejected them.
Even if you sincerely believe that 155lbs is a dogshit weight, it’s categorically impossible for you to refute my claims about GGG’s actions, because they’re far too easy to verify.
It really doesn’t matter if my words offend you or whether you’re a massive GGG fan, because what I’ve wrote accurately reflects the objective truth of historical reality.
No one has the power to go back in time to rewrite history, so why bother making excuses for someone’s weird decisions?
Why is Canelo considered the “duck” when GGG rejected the February 2016 offer?
That’s a serious question! Are you denying historical facts?

February 2016, GGG received a guaranteed opportunity to face Canelo at 155lbs, but the Kazakh rejected it, despite claiming he could beat anyone from 154lbs to 175lbs, coupled with his trainer (Abel Sanchez) boasting about Golovkin destroying world-rated cruiserweights during sparring.
Canelos bullshit of wanting to compete for a 160 belt at 155 is trash and no one should accept it. If you want to be a champ at a weight fight at the weight.
Pretty clear point I’m making, you wanna fight for someone’s belt, do it at the weight class. Not bending to canelos every request is not the same as ducking.
Moot point really, even past prime we saw GGG beat canelo (and the judges save him with a crook draw).

Re: If Canelo will beat clearly GGG and Bivol, do you think he will fight Beterbiev @ 175 on Cinco de Mayo 2023 ?

And Team GGG never submitted an offer to Canelo.
K2 didn’t put forward an offer for Canelo to reject.
Therefore, why did you defend someone’s stance about Canelo ducking a prime GGG?
Are you saying that facts don’t matter?

There is only one simple fact:
If Canelo had "really" wanted it, then the fight would have been "done". He's the shot caller!
Between the two, only one of them vacated the belt in order to avoid the fight.
