Sandor Martin is with Matchroom too, easy fight to make.

Not an awful fight but not a good one either. He’ll be the best that Benn’s fought but not exactly what we were hoping.

Another opponent on the back end of their career and who probably doesn’t have much ambition.

Garcia has fought 3 times in the past 40 months all at welter or slighty under.

Lost 2 out of 3

Really what does this do for Benn?

Eddie will oversell this as though Benn is going in with a legend and Garcia will make a massive pension pay day.

The sell here will be whether Benn can be the first to stop the legend.

Just make the Avanesyan fight and ve done with it

what weight is this/when is it? cuz at the bam fight mikey looked like he has a lot of weight to lose to make 147.....wasnt a fat arse, but defo did not look like a guy with a fight signed

obviously his career is on the downturn, and he's undersized at 147, but he's tough (spence couldnt crack him) and his skills are good, rate him muuch better than the likes of van heerden etc. people were loving on much bigger beefy for beating vargas....a guy mikey had already beat clearly a couple years ago

i think its not a bad fight............it has the usual benn opponent traits of a guy lacking momentum and/or small, but mikey's got enough skill to be a respectable opponent despite that

Nevertheless it does show how far Benn has come from when he was a novice not so long ago.

I remember plenty saying that Chris Jenkins would beat him, now folk are saying Mikey Garcia would be a mismatch.

Who the hell would have said Garcia would have been easy pickings for Benn 3 years ago.

Good fight for both. Benn can get a decent scalp. Garcia can become relevant again. There's intrigue.

It's a big name, closer to his prime than previous Benn opponents but he's still past prime and massively undersized. I think Garcia's recent record of 1-2 at Welterweight after going 39-0 at lower weights shows he's gone up a division or two too far.

The casuals will lap it up though. Better opponent than others Benn has faced and I don't think Garcia will fold like previous opponents. Competitive on paper but either man could win dominantly based on their frailties.

I always liked Mikey, but he’s wasted so much of his career. Super skills when he can be bothered, certainly wouldn’t rule out an upset.

He’s a bit lazy.

Not in his right weight class.

His come back was good until he moved up and fought Spence. Made money and then DAZN didn’t help when they paid him a further $7m to fight Vargas.

He doesn’t seem motivated anymore.

An inactive 34 year old Mikey Garcia at Welterweight.

Pathetic.

Would rather he fought someone actually motivated, coming off a win, and in the right weight class. How long can he feasibly duck Avanesyan for?

CONor Benn chasing the washed up has-beings again.

What an utter joke of a fighter. What a spineless, little worm he is. His dad should be ashamed of him.

You reckon Nigel had a better resume at the same stage?

Mickey Garcia should be at 135lbs the disgrace. Showed nothing at all v not the most trickiest southpaw in the world in Sandor.

It’s not the worst fight but it’s following the same trend in Conor’s opponents. That’s worrying.

What are they worried about that they’re chasing light welters, non punchers and old fighters? I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Cordina and Azim been showing up Benn in sparring.

Something isn’t right at all.

I don’t hate the fight but I don’t particularly like it either.

If Garcia hadn’t looked so meh in his last fight then I’d be happy but he looked like he had no ambition against Martin.

Martin isn’t a bad fighter but he’s a 140lber.
