Not so weird.... An old-fashioned way to score professional contests was that you REALLY had to win a round to get it scored in your favour and all the rest were "even"-rounds.overhand_right wrote: ↑19 Aug 2019, 08:46Weird cards. Seven rounds even and three to Butler on one card, nothing to McCall. I wonder if a fighter has ever had his hand raised while there was one judge who didn't see him winning a single, solitary round!?Petu v.d. Here, both the scorecards and the report seem to imply that Butler had 2-3 very strong rounds (including 7th) in mid-fight, which every judge has apparently scored for him.
Then the difference has been on the opinion whether McCall has done ENOUGH with his "controlling" jab to win the other rounds (or at least majority of them). One judge hasn't thought so, two have seen merit in few.
Based on scorecards (and supported by a report) this has likely been a slow-paced affair with McCall jabbing irregularly and out-of-shape Butler mostly puffing, but putting together a stretch of an effective pressure.
