Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Christian Hammer - 2 July 2022
It looks as if Joyce's punches are arriving by second class post. He doesn't look at his sharpest.

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Christian Hammer - 2 July 2022
Joe Joyce really is a juggernaut.
I don’t like the fact he’s defensively irresponsible.
But he’s got a granite jaw, he’s heavy-handed, possesses an enormous gas tank, and relentlessly throws a high volume of blows.
Joyce just needs to tighten up his defence slightly and I think he may already be too much for the excessively muscular and easily-fatigued Anthony Joshua.

Talksport commentators are not good. They are like television commentators. Ron McKintosh is the man for radio, more descriptive (of course, he talks too much on the television).

Is Joyce the slowest fighter of all time?

Doesn't look very good Joyce here....maybe overlooked Hammer somewhat, he's always been slow I suppose...
Just looks awkward though.

Joyce is hard as nails but he needs to protect himself more than he does. He's so easy to hit he'll get damaged long term.

Hammer is a bit gassed now in round 3. Joyce should be able to take over from here.

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Christian Hammer - 2 July 2022
Hammer looks exhausted by the frenetic pace being set by Joyce.
The fight won’t go past the fifth round.

He’s making Hammer look like Khan v Michael Gomez.
Hammer looking for a way out now. Shock.

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Christian Hammer - 2 July 2022
joyce can grind someone to dust in 3 rounds, its pretty impressive. but geezes christ he needs to work on his defence just a little bit. makes hammer look excelent at times...

Not a bad nights boxing, some decent matchups. Joyce is very watchable despite the obvious flaws. Thought Frampton really enhanced the night with non-biased co-comms. It can be done.

Re: Round-by-Round: Joe Joyce vs. Christian Hammer - 2 July 2022
Joyce won that fight exclusively using his athleticism, but he needs to show more skills, focussing on being defensively responsible, in order to defeat top-ten world-rated heavyweight opposition.
