Promoter Bill MacDonald only paid 225k of the 625k for the fight and was sued by Listons fake Mob controlled intercontinental productions. The court ruled for Macdonald and there was an appeal but I am wondering if he ever paid the full amount. He did bet on Clay which to me is an indication that he knew something but I digress. I have trouble trying to find out anything about him. I'm not sure if he was the same guy that owned the Marlins. Still not much history on his boxing involvement after that first farce.
