Everybody should appreciate being part of it. When it's over- next year or the year after- and we finally have a definitive number one, whether it be Usyk, Fury, AJ or even somebody else- I'm sure everybody will fight in the end. It will take a while to really be able to look back on it and judge it for what it was.

Absolutely. Boxing fans are pretty hard to please. We had 10+ years of Klitschko jab and grab. A dire era of watching Wlad jab fat blokes in the face until they tired enough for him to knock them out.
It may be true to say that there's a bit of a skill shortage, bit this is the most fun the division has been for a really long time! We've gone from one boring fighter at the top beating everyone, to a whole host of others with strengths and flaws willing to fight each other.
What I'm not happy about is the pack of the top lads fighting each other, not what's on show.
Exactly how it is. Of course, it's impossible to judge an era properly, until it's over, but the current one brings much more excitement than the previous one, that's for sure.

Fury was THE MAN who dethroned in big fashion Wlad!

Fury was THE MAN who got the guts to fight Bronze Bomber after a long unhealthy layoff ! Wilder was lured into that fight thinking he could KTFO a fat & out of shape Fury.

Also Ruiz Jr was THE MAN who dethroned AJ, taking his 0! So, AJ was willing to take more risks and took the fight with Usyk!

Thank you Fury and Ruiz Jr! :TU: :yay: :salut:

In an era of mediocre heavies he is the cream.
So, eventually it's about an era, the older grass is greener, how could I forget?
I think a prime Larry Holmes beats Fury. I think a prime George Foreman beats Fury. I think a prime Riddick Bowe beats Fury.
Yes to all 3 of those.

This is a fight that won't age well. I too thought instant classic, presumably because caught up in the moment. Watched it again the other week and can accept the quality was pretty sh!t, but for whatever reason thought the quantity was better than it actually was. Yeah, a disappointing rewatch this one, should've left well alone.

It was a really fun fight live, good build up. The worry was always Wilder's power, so when you know the result, and know that he can't capitalise on it, your just left watching an overweight, sloppy Fury pummeling a dopey lummox who can't box.
