Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II | Sky Sports PPV - 20 August 2022
Jack campaigning at 200lbs and Rivera at light heavy.
Pascal coming back down at 38 or catchweight set?

Badou Jack always finds his way onto biggg cards so fair play, but this is a weird match up, looks like a 175lb fight at 200lb... Jack is proven but old, his opponent is unproven with 90% of his resume being pure trash. Noone was asking for this, and i dont know what if anything it does for the winner. Weird aside, I dont hate it, I feel like Badou will be dominant, but 38 is that age where you can get very old over night.

So 2 undercard fights have been announced for this and neither involve a Matchroom fighter. Eddie was confident about it being a fully Matchroom show with him sorting the undercard but who knows if that’s now the case.

Hmmm. Perhaps all isn’t well now with Eddie and the Saudis. He was super confident that he was responsible for the undercard. I’d be surprised if these are his picks.

God he really does talk a load of old bobbins doesn't he?maverick23 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 14:02 So Fury is now saying he’d come out of retirement and fight Joshua. For free. Last week it would take £500m. His caveats this time are that it would have to be free for fans to attend and also be on free to air Tv.
The weird thing is some of the people at the show where he said we’re lapping it up as though it was genuine.

Yeah, he looked every inch the beaten fighter at the end, he looked dejected and resigned to defeat.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑01 Jul 2022, 04:22 He didn’t seem surprised at all.
The whole place knew he lost.
“Huh”?
Has he watched the ending? And his reaction.
I think he had concussion.

Yep. It’s a shame as I’ve always loved him as a fighter and he can be super engaging. Just talks potentially more bollocks than any other fighter.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑19 Jul 2022, 11:04God he really does talk a load of old bobbins doesn't he?maverick23 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 14:02 So Fury is now saying he’d come out of retirement and fight Joshua. There's a theory on Twitter that Jack being on is a rogue move. He was a Probellum fighter and has gone on record saying Kinihan is one of his best friends... Sky wouldn't have this.

I’d be surprised if that’s right. Jack has come out and said the Probellum thing was a one fight deal (despite the press release saying it was for longer when he ‘signed’ with them).mickey1975 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2022, 11:30 There's a theory on Twitter that Jack being on is a rogue move. I think it’s the Saudis putting the undercard together themselves.
Hopefully Eddie addresses it at some point.

Yeah - I’m not disputing they know each other. I’d just be surprised if it’s intentional sabotage by Matchroom. Who knows though.mickey1975 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2022, 12:44There's a photo of him out with Kinihan.maverick23 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2022, 12:05I’d be surprised if that’s right. Eddie was tryna do one last big cash in in case AJ lost.

"He [Amanzholov] says there are days when Usyk goes to war with him. It's not easy to hurt to Nursultan but he's been on the receiving end a few times. But a lot of his heavyweights have been sent back home, if they can't stay in camp. They can't keep up," Amanzholov's manager Aamir Ali told Sky Sports.
"He says [Usyk] is in tremendous shape for this camp. He said as soon as [Usyk] came back from Jeddah, from the press conference, the day he arrived back, he phoned up Nursultan who was sitting in his hotel and said to him, 'I want you sparring today.' Literally got off the plane and started sparring straightaway and [Amanzholov] said he was in a foul mood. He was in a really angry mood, wanted to go to war. Anthony Joshua's in trouble.
"[Usyk] was sending heavyweights, six foot six and whatnot back home. Nursultan was the one of the only heavyweights that he kept on throughout the whole camp. Because he would actually challenge him and give him a very tough time and from what I understand there were points where Nursultan was being told by Usyk, 'No I need you to come on harder.' Like don't hold back on me, just go to war."

Usyk has brought in Malik Scott..
I think it's more that he brought in Scott's fighter Gerald Washington.
