Daniyar Yeleussinov

Post by wrighty »

What's happened to this guy? Released by Hearn, won a Ibo title and then nothing, but he's an Olympic gold medalist. Has he got anything in the pipeline at all?

He would have a good fight with Marku

It seems mental. Maybe Hearn thought he couldn't market him in Britain or that he spread himself thin by trying to do Italy, America and Australia too. Frank also let go of Vijender Singh but I think he was just playing with boxing at that point.

I remember him being a bit disapointing (considering the hype), but surely he was still a worthy name with fringe world title potential.

I think he's got a bit of Lara about him. Cautious, southpaw, well skilled. He's quiet and doesn't speak English so could be a hard sell to promote. He could make anyone look really bad and doesn't have the big promotional beef behind him. A fight like Marku would be good. A bit of a name who is tough and can come forward. I think he could be a fun watch if he started teeing off a little more. I read about his amateur pedigree and it's demented! He did loads!

He’s fighting on Showtime this weekend.

The Spence-Benavidez card.

He would beat marku 1 handed. Just needs to play the mando game and get a shot. Tough division though…

should call out Ava… he is always been ducked… except when the bravest warriors like Metz step up. (The left edge of Kazakhstan I s tecnicaly in Europe is t it? Probably not, but if so great euro belt fight…)

That would have appeal I think and would be a good clash of styles.

He did call out Vergil Ortiz, But I never heard Ortiz's Team/ Oscar De La Hoya's answer. Beating An Olympic Gold Medal Winner, would look good on Vergil Ortiz's record
