Herbie Hide vs Tommy Morrison

Mythical fight that never happened. They were due to clash in Hong Kong in 95 but the show fell apart. Both were destructive punchers, skilled, but had vulnerabilities and could be stopped. Who wins and how?

I genuinely can't split them.

Morrison was much tougher than Hide and proved himself in the ring with more wins of note. Hide could look decent for a couple of rounds, but he would be broken by the first money punch of Tommy.

A shame we never got to see it. I love the Duke. He was value for money and had good skills too!

Hide would out-box Morrison through the first 3 rounds behind his jabs and combinations on the outside, but in the fourth, the Duke would rally back with jabs, right hands and left hooks to hurt Hide. Then in the fifth round, the Duke would knock Hide out with a big left hook.

Tommy wins by stoppage in the first half of the fight. He was better than Herbie at everything.

The problem with Morrison was that with his chin and defense, he was vulnerable to someone who had decent power. He probably would have beat Hide, but Hide would have an outside chance.
