The Boxrec update

Post by Old bones Ian »

It's rubbish looking at boxers records now, you have to open the fight up to see the bouts information such as title , scores etc

Yeah it’s a pain.
And on every fighters’ record there’s 5/6 fights obscured by ads.

I'm not sure that either you log in, or change browser, but one or the other and you don't get the adds.
I use Brave as my browser, cuts a lot of adds and most importantly isn't Google

Bad update guys. The 'dates' page is an absolute jumbled mess. Clicking on each venue to see fights, really?? Who has time to do all that?

This is/used to be, the go-to site for boxing records, dates and forum browse. I can see the numbers dropping off with these changes and login problems.

Approx. 40 cards today, we can't click through all those. Must be an easier way?

Yeah it’s crap. Is it to make the data harder to scrape / copy or something? That’s the only logical reason I can come up with for the new design.

I think you just need to be logged in to see the records properly but yes definitely some teething issues with logging in and not liking that they've dropped the W and L and just colour coded the wins and losses.

That’s just an unbelievable oversight. Red / green colourblindness isn’t exactly statistically rare amongst the user demographic, is it. Just unbelievable.

It’s ruined the site for me.

I'm colour blind & find the new red & green win & lose formula impossible to make out, can we please go back to the old format & also reindroduce the Commonwealth ranking?

I too am upset about the new layout. One thing is to update the site to look more modern, but how in the hell are you going to make searching recs super complicated? Especially the date search. There is no way i even know nor mostly care what venue a fight is happening...so to have to view each venue to see the fights associated with that date is absolutely ridiculous. Someone messed up the best boxing record site. SMH

I can see fights by date? Are you sure you are logged in when looking at records, it will say top right of record

I can’t seem to access my watchlist .

So instead I tried to ‘watch’ a boxer and it said error.

Can only watch a maximum of 10 boxers at a time..

I currently watch 97

What joke is that?

10 at a time??

I recently updated my list before this edit came.

I had retired boxers on my list.

Managed to sort it.
