Tyson Fury vs. Hafthor Bjornsson | Exhibition - Who wins?
Tyson Fury Confirms Talks For Exhibition With Hafthor Bjornsson
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has confirmed reports that he's in talks to return to the ring in an exhibition bout against Game of Thrones star Hafthor "Thor" Bjornsson at a London stadium in November.
Back in April, Fury retained his title with a knockout of Dillian Whyte in six rounds, before a crowd of 94,000 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Afterwards, Fury vowed to retire from the sport, but he's still the WBC champion and has no intention of vacating his title.
Bjornsson saw ring action in March, when he dropped and decisioned strongman rival Eddie Hall.
Fury likes the idea of facing Bjornsson before a big stadium crowd.
"It would be a bit of fun. It would be great to get in there in front of, say, 70,000 fans and show him what boxing is all about, make him miss, and knock him out. We are talking to his team at the moment and it is definitely something I'm interested in," Fury told Telegraph Sport.
Bjornsson also confirmed that his handlers were in talks were Fury's team.
“I know that there are some negotiations going on and some talks, but nothing is complete. If it did happen, I would gladly step into the ring and I would gladly fight him," Bjornsson said.
"I’ve said since day one. When people have asked me, ‘Would you fight Tyson Fury?’, I’ve always said yes. It would be a huge honor for me to fight the best heavyweight boxer in the world and it would be an amazing experience for myself.
“Would I get beat? Probably, but I would not give a f---. I would do my best and who f------- knows? I’m f------- strong and my punches hurt so if it happens he can’t take it easy because I’m a warrior, I’m a Viking, and I’m going all in if it happens. Nothing is impossible if you have that mindset at least."
Fury denied circulating reports that he's going to target the winner of next month's rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua, who will battle for the IBO, IBF, WBA, WBO heavyweight titles.
"I'm not overly concerned with Anthony Joshua and Usyk in Saudi Arabia next month, whoever wins, because I've achieved everything I wanted to as a professional boxer, undefeated and having won all the belts. There are so many other things I can go on and do," Fury said.

It will be more popular than the Usyk-Joshua rematch. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

This has come up quite a few times, though. And Thor has Billy Nelson in Iceland training him at the moment.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑26 Jul 2022, 14:14 Do we really need a new thread for every random shower-thought Fury spews out?

Surely this is an very easy payday for Fury? If someone is going to give you millions for a few minute work then none of us will say no?

I think they're misjudging it. I know a lot of people who went to Wembley who wouldn't buy into this.

Plenty on PPV would buy it, it would generate big money for everyone

Tyson 'ya dosser' stop messing around! Exhibition vs this link and Ngannou is fine, but don't you dare retire before becoming undisputed!

Anybody who pays money to see this is an absolute sap.
I wouldn't watch it if it was on in my back garden

The same saps bought into Mayweather v McGregor .. this probably appeals to Tyson's core fan base nowadays.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑27 Jul 2022, 01:45 Anybody who pays money to see this is an absolute sap.

Will Thor be able to put Tyson down like he did the formidable Eddie Hall? If the skinny Wilder can .. surely Thor can!
It's a legacy fight for Fury. A win would place him as the GOAT. No doubt he will insist he fights for free and all profits going to hedgehog mental health charities.

It's a shame, casual fannies would rather watch scripted novelty fights like Mayweather vs McGregor or Jake Paul than an actual fight between boxers.tonyevs wrote: ↑27 Jul 2022, 02:02

It's basically becoming old WWE,

I could see it for Ngannou, as he's a real fighter and there would be some degree of intrigue with a cross-over of fan-bases. But Bjornsson is a terrible boxer and isn't even that big a name, is he? It doesn't sell. Complete waste of time.

You say that, but I've got a shed that wants knocking down and moving. Fury could try jumping it and crush it, and then Thor could just carry most of it under his arms up the alley!
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Hafthor Bjornsson | Exhibition - November 2022
It just isn’t a very intriguing fight even for a novelty match. I mean it’s no Balboa v Lazer Lips is it?

Thunderlips lol
Personally I'm more interested in Fury taking on the UFC heavyweight champion but I have no problem with Fury doing an exhibition with Bjornsson.
Exhibitions used to be commonplace when I was a kid I still remember Mickey Rourke having an exhibition with Frank Tate on Tuesday Night Fights, etc. Nowadays they're a special event.
I hope Fury takes on the Joshua-Usyk winner, though.

If you're only going to box once or twice a year, this is an unacceptable fight to take.
If he subjects boxing fans to this cynical time wasting exercise I'll lose all respect for him. Not that that will affect him or his bank account in any way, but I still will.
