What coco says is true for the majority of gyms I previously trained at.

Unfortunately it turns a lot of youngsters away - and turns out majority of guys who fight with their face and walk on their heels in later years. Macho toughness only takes you so far.

Have you ever seen a kid bent double, tk the point of vomiting on his first night at the gym?

Many a time, and quite rightly so, boxing isn't for everyone, they need to know what they are getting into.
I remember once I sparred a 16 year old first timer.
I told him he had to keep punching to keep me off. And that if he stopped punching I would start punching him back!
Fair play to him for 2 3 minute rounds he kept punching, I never actually punched him once.
He ran to be sick at the end of the second round.

I puked the first time I went to a boxing gym. I thought I was pretty fit at the time too. They didn’t get us sparring though on the first night - just pushed us double hard.

I think it depends why your vomiting.

If it’s through exhaustion it’s one thing. If it’s from body punches it’s another!

Absolutely no way shape or form would they make a first timer spar, or have them beaten to the point of vomiting to see if they're tough enough, pure horse shit, who throws a kid in to soar without teaching him anything about boxing?? You're a shit trainer and shouldn't be teaching

My uncle actually pulled his kid from a gym because he came out bragging about bashing some kid up in sparring on his first day. Turns out of course the gym was ran by some scumbag who just threw all the kids in to hit eachother

As for Edwards, he's a Kinahan man, which means he's a pre approved scumbag

Have never seen a first-timer spar, apart from one cocky teenager (coming from a taekwondo class) who begged for it and swiftly, uh, got a lot more of it than he wanted

I’ve seen people flung into a sparring session on the first day. It’s normally a local bully with a bad attitude. The coaches rightly believed they never come

I think any amateur gym shoving first timers into a spar should have their Sport England affiliation withdrawn.

You actually need a medical to spar now. And be named on the clubs list.... The England Boxing registered clubs are quite strict on it. The unlicensed boys, well....

Yep. I bet he loves it.

I always found Danny one of the better YT interviewers. He asks more difficult questions than the majority of others. However the messages with Charlie and Sonny’s sister are creepy as hell - particularly given it’s someone he’s never met/doesn’t know.

There’s been a few people who said how creepy he is and how they’re not surprised. Did he have previous with this kind of thing?!
