I recently read somewhere, maybe it was here, that Palance was 11-0 going into his fight with Joe Baksi. Is there any evidence for this?

I imagine there is evidence for it somewhere much like there is evidence out there for Louis L'Amour having had boxing matches, but it really all boils down to what you consider to be a professional boxing match.

that reminds me, did you ever get to read the classic American book
BEGGARS OF LIFE by Jim Tully (1924)?
Tully is considered one of the first American "Hard-Boiled" writers.
he used to travel around the country and did impromtu boxing matches 9reportedly 30 pro boxing matches,
but boxrec could only verify 3 of them)in small tank towns across the USA
in the 1910's too.
Jim Tully also wrote a classic novel THE BRUISER (published in 1936)
you ought to check that book out too.
