Fury is a joke

Tyson Fury flies to Iceland to try and provoke face-to-face confrontation with Hafthor Bjornsson, but Thor is not there and so Fury heads to the pub instead

Tyson Fury and his father John Fury have flown to Iceland with the aim of provoking a face-to-face confrontation with Hafthor Bjornsson.

However, their idea has not exactly gone to plan as, unbeknownst to them, Thor is currently in Rome filming for a movie.

Image

Fury began by posting a clip at the airport on his Instagram story: “Do you know where we are guys? Iceland.

“And you know what we’re doing here? We’re looking for Thor. Come out and fight like a man.”

Not long later, he posted a clip from outside Thor’s gym after finding out he is currently abroad.

“So we came to Iceland to fight Thor,” Fury explained, “He’s not here, so now Thor if you want any smoke with the Gypsy King, you’re gonna have to come to Morecambe Bay and find me.”

Image

Fury and his father John then proceeded to acquire souvenir Viking hats and filmed themselves walking around proclaiming to have taken over the country.

By the end of the day, they were both in the pub having failed in their mission to track down Thor.

Fury took the time on his trip to speak to Icelandic newspaper Fréttablaðið and said: “I came here to pick a fight with Thor, but he’s not here, he ran away to Italy.

“He knew I was coming and he still left to Italy.

“So now I’ve got my Viking hat on and I’ve taken over Iceland, I’m the new king here.”

Thor responded in an Instagram video of his own.

“I’m currently in Rome filming a movie,” he said, “And guess what? Tyson Fury’s in Iceland.

“He tried to find me, couldn’t find me, because I’m not there.

“But Tyson, if your team is serious, if you’re serious about fighting me, have your team send me a contract.

“Let’s get serious and I’ll find you, I’ll come to you.”

It's all clearly bollocks to keep the TikTok twats and Instagram morons fed with content. On a serious boxing forum we really shouldn't be paying attention to any of this old shite.

Can't the mods make a 'Tyson Fury Social Media Bullsh*t' mega thread and all of this stuff can go in there? If he's fighting then fine, but all of this other noise is intolerable.

For someone who’s retired Tyson’s doing an awful lot of calling people out for a fight. AJ (free on the BBC), Chisora and now Thor.

Yet he doesn’t call out the guy with 3 of the 4 main belts.

He's filming a Netflix 10 part documentary. He needs material! He's doing WWE in Cardiff and Goldstar are doing a huge Wrestle-fest around it. Spencer Brown (merchandise boss) was even in Finland with him and Big John.

I wouldn't watch it if it was on in my back garden
The same saps bought into Mayweather v McGregor .. this probably appeals to Tyson's core fan base nowadays.

Will Thor be able to put Tyson down like he did the formidable Eddie Hall? If the skinny Wilder can .. surely Thor can!

It's a legacy fight for Fury. A win would place him as the GOAT. No doubt he will insist he fights for free and all profits going to hedgehog mental health charities.

Fury is charismatic enough and has a crazy enough family to do a show without all the fake and silly stuff. The casuals may lap it up but it makes him lose credibility with the rest of the stuff he says.

Re: WWE, I’m not sure he is doing something. I’m sure that was the plan but hard to promote when you can’t get in the states. If he is there then I’d guess it’d be for a non-pre announced cameo.

Well Goldstar are on the poster and Tyson is booked in for two sessions. £100 per photo/autograph, plus fees.

It’s organised by DKM but they’ve probably put Goldstar on the poster because Tyson is there.

Tyson’s charging wrestling fans £100 for an autograph. 😳

I am starting to wish Fury would retire for real, and just fck off.

He doesn't really seem interested in adding anything to his legacy.

According to him, money isn't important, so just retire then, you've got plenty, and let someone who wants to be a proper champion take over.

He’s a walking, talking contradiction.

He’s retired yet is calling out Chisora and now a strong man.

He doesn’t care about money yet wants £500m to fight and is charging £100 for an autograph after he received over $30m for his last fight.

Tyson’s a better fighter than AJ but at least AJ doesn’t contradict himself so much and appears to genuinely want the toughest fights. Tyson seems to be going up and down the country doing one man shows, charging £100 for a photo or an autograph whilst AJ is making reportedly £8m a year from his commercial deals for almost certainly a hell of a lot less effort.

Hafthor Bjornsson RETIRES from boxing after failing to make fight with Tyson Fury as Thor admits: ‘I never really loved the sport’

Hafthor Bjornsson has announced that he’s now decided to retire from boxing following failed talks for an exhibition fight with Tyson Fury.

Thor outclassed Eddie Hall when they clashed in March as the two former World’s Strongest Men met in the ring.

Since that victory though, he’s been unable to secure another big fight.

Bjornsson explained on his YouTube channel: “I’ll admit there was a time when there was talks between Tyson Fury and I, well his team and my team.

“There was build-up starting, but that never went through.

“Now I’ve made a difficult decision and the reason why it took me so long to finally make this video was because this is actually a very difficult thing to talk about.

“I’ve made a decision to move on from boxing, to not compete in boxing again, to say goodbye to boxing and just not fight again.

“I had a good run, I did it for two-and-a-half years.

“It was nice to do so because first when I started I had a lot of people not believing in me.

“I was a beginner in boxing, but I proved a lot of people wrong by working hard.

“I proved people wrong and I made people proud, and that was very satisfying for me.

“But in reality, the passion was never there, it was all grind and I never really loved the sport.

“That’s just the hard truth.

“I have a lot of respect for the sport because I know how much work goes into boxing.

“Just the passion isn’t there.”

Bjornsson and Hall must be in the argument for the two most performance enhanced boxers of all time. The body chemistry of those two would be a wonder to behold.

Hearn would fight their case. Through process, of course.
