I think ultimately the point of this is purely to try to move the needle on dazn in the UK. Yes the fighters will get paid well, and personally I'm looking forward to it but dazn needs a boost and this may provide it. I think for Eddie it basically comes down to that alone.
100% agree.
The fight doesn't help get subs though..
Anyone who purchases the ppv will probably get a month free sub however..

Yeah - I’d imagine that DAZN will have rolling deals on those people that buy the PPV. Even if they don’t they’ll have another 100k+ of customers to market to.
This fight will get DAZN more publicity than any other they’ve done to date.

Yeh it’ll get more free publicity than any other big fight here, more than a big Tyson Fury fight for sure. Ridiculous as it seems, maybe more than Fury Joshua - with the soap opera back story and day time tv prob getting involved and all the rest…
As it’s pay-per-view, they probably won’t get their free subscription. But at least millions will suddenly know what DAZN is then tune in to the Joshua turkey come back at Christmas.
I'd imagine tickets will sell out but whether the PPV does good business is another thing. Loads of messing about downloading the app and having to subscribe etc instead of just pressing the red button on Sky or Virgin is something else.
If they charge a tenner plus a month on top it might be ok but I suspect they will be charging twenty quid or more

Anyone setting up a new channel in the modern age of streams is beyond bonkers. Dazn will flop. Just like b o X nation did
Agreed in this country , but seems to be getting good subs on foreign shores .

Yeah if they can only sell 20k tickets or so at the O2 and both fighters are getting huge purses then that’s gotta be financed through a hefty PPV charge

Sorry, this has probably been discussed but do I get this as a DAZN subscriber or do I have to pay for it extra?
Sorry mate, but your gonna have to bend over and assume the position, because DAZN are going to screw you on a non world title PPV on top of your monthly subscription.
Something they assured you they wouldn't do when you signed up.
Maybe this will be turn out like De La Hoya - Pacquaio (much lower level obviously) where everyone thinks the weight difference will be too much for the little guy but actually ends up favouring him

DAZN started in 2015, hardly a new channel
They all come and go. Setanta was around for years hosting Gaelic Games initially then stretched their wings and eventually went into boxing and disappeared.

Seems a silly matchup. These guys aren't in the same weightclass, but the relevance is their dad's fought once upon a time.
Eubank by wide dec or late stoppage.
Iets be honest Eubank finishes this when he feels like it
