I've got to listen the Shane McGuigan Pod. This should be one of the best.

Sounds like Tris and Shame mesh, so should be an outstanding interview.

I remember Chris Billam-Smith speaking very highly of Shane and Barry in his interview with Dixon.

I had to bail on the Paul Spadafora interview. I gave it a good go....got about an hour and 10 minutes into it, but unfortunately I don't enjoy the crazy stories of someone's life outside of boxing when there is little detail of their career and fights.

There was very little accounts of his fights and was patchy at best, almost skimming over Spadafora's crowning achievement of winning the IBF world lightweight title ! Infact, there was more emphasis on sparring sessions....I couldn't give a monkeys about those

Disappointing to say the least, especially with it following the brilliant interview with Shane McGuigan.

No, Spaddy's wasn't anything like Towers' interview....that was diabolical.

The sad thing is Spaddy was an excellent boxer who had a really good career, yet he couldn't stop talking about all the shite that had gone in his life.

I'm sure some will really enjoy that type of interview, but i prefer a coherent chronicle of a boxer's career.

Thought i was going to have to take my own life in the early part of the mcguigan episode. Him and Tris discussing diets and gains  ...but once they talked boxing it was pretty interesting.

Looking forward to getting around to kenny bayless. Be good to hear his take on hatton/mayweather.

exactly why an objective perspective from another ref would be useful

Oh yeah, for sure. I just meant Bayless might not necessarily be asked about it, there’s plenty of crap refereeing performances to choose from.

Caught up with the Shane McGuigan one, as the previous commemt said, was good when they got round to boxing.

The Frank Stallone interview cracked me up at times, he really knows his old school onions.

Kenny Bayless next.

Just listening to the Andy Flute one, he sounds like the sort of bloke you wouldn't want to upset.

I agree. I was at a boxing 'do' in the Midlands a few years ago and I noticed Andy chatting with former heavyweight pro Bruce Woodward, who sadly died recently. No doubt about it, Andy looks a right hard bastard.

I can't say I knew a lot about him or his career but he reckons he's never been off his feet and was a better street fighter than boxer. Amazing he managed to box at a decent level considering he seemed to be drunk or high most of the time.

One of the reasons he looks hard is because he is bashed up a bit, he took more than he gave
