Re: Tyson Fury Update *LATEST*
And on the front page, we’ve also got a thread about him fighting Chisora next, a thread about him fighting Thor next, and a thread about him changing trainer. Bit of a joke to have a thread created every time Fury tweets or says something, especially when it’s nearly always bollocks. This is supposed to be the ‘latest updates’ thread, why not just use this one?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Aug 2022, 08:47TBF, this thread was from a few months ago..Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑12 Aug 2022, 08:44 Do we really need a new post / thread every single time Fury says something?![]()

You're right. I forgot about this one, it was last updated like 30 days ago..Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑12 Aug 2022, 09:26And on the front page, we’ve also got a thread about him fighting Chisora next, a thread about him fighting Thor next, and a thread about him changing trainer. Re: Tyson Fury Update *LATEST*
I'm hoping for an 8 man tournament to fill the vacancy.
Joyce vs Parker
Ruiz vs ortiz
Wilder vs Helenius
Sanchez vs unkown
All these fights are either signed or nearly signed.. That covers the top 6 contenders and Helenius at 12th and Sanchez's opponent currently unnamed.
This could get exciting if they would do it.
But I expect Helenius to jump way up in next months ratings and Wilder vs Helinius will be for vacant title

“I just had a beautiful video conference with Tyson Fury on his 34th birthday,” Sulaiman said in a video posted to his verified Twitter account. “Very proud of him. He has confirmed retirement, to go out as a champion, as a family man with money with a great future. That’s a dream of anyone involved in boxing. We want to wish Tyson Fury the best. May God bless him all the time. He’s a great, great inspiration.”

He will change his mind tomorrow and be asking for the belt back, in all seriousness I hope he's ok, he's all over the place. I would have at least waited for the outcome of next week's fight.

His number of ‘retirements’ must nearly be equal to his number of fights by now.
Re: Tyson Fury Update *LATEST*
He is at the stage where the belt is secondary; he is bigger than any of the belts about now so dropping it means very little.
If AJ wins then is there likely to be a 3rd Usyk fight? maybe Fury is giving up his belt to give him time for that to be contested too - then come straight back when path is clear.
Reading the comments on the BBC website it seems a clear shift in the opinion of Fury - practically all of them are negative about his constant retirements and BS comments.

If Joshua-Usyk goes the distance, Joshua will probably get at least a draw. Then we will be treated to a third fight in Fall of 2023.
Then maybe Usyk-Fury in 2024.
Then maybe Usyk-Fury in 2024.

WBC should call his bluff and make next week for the undisputed heavyweight fight.

Re: Tyson Fury Update *LATEST*
Fury seems a bit all over the place lately, I wonder if this is to do with his mental state. Fighting Chisora, new trainer, calling out people and then retiring again. I don't know what to believe, maybe he wants to give his mate Delboy a farewell pay off but he can't because his hands are tied by the sanctioning bodies so he thinks 'retiring' is a way around it. Then he can comeback and win the belts again. But that could take a while and he's definitely been talking about retiring more and more in recent times so not sure he will want to be hanging around another few years.

He's given up The Ring belt. It's on offer next week now.
And still Lineal....

Wasn`t his claim to be the lineal champ debunked awhile back?mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Aug 2022, 11:19 He's given up The Ring belt. It's on offer next week now.

But I guess Fury being a Fury facts and details are not really important.

If the WBC gets thrown in the hat for Usyk v Joshua you can bet your bottom dollar that Fury is splitting the sanctioning fee 50/50 with Sulaiman and he's still a shoe in for a fight with the winner.

Re: Tyson Fury Update *LATEST*
I don’t get this lineal champ thing and I’m sure it’s only been in recent years it’s been used. I don’t remember anyone claiming being lineal champ in the past. At some point the chain gets broken anyway if that fighter retires for good so then what happens, no one else can be lineal champ or it starts from scratch?

It’s always been there.. but usually the lineal champion has held the majority of belts.Controversial wrote: ↑13 Aug 2022, 14:07I don’t get this lineal champ thing and I’m sure it’s only been in recent years it’s been used.
