Round-by-Round: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - 20 August 2022
Re: Round-by-Round: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - 20 August 2022
While he did better than last time, in the end AJ still too upright and robotic and wasn't able to impose his size on the fluid punching Usyk.
For me Fury is a very fluid boxer, knows how to maximise his size and will beat Usyk

Interestingly I did a comedy gig tonight and discussed my love of boxing with the acts. Two out of the four had a story of dealing with AJ at charity gigs and what a nasty piece of work he was.

Eddie trying to shrug it off but he sounds gutted. At least he admitted Joshua lost.

All them years of media training down the drain. Letting out his inner road man. Eddie must be livid

Yeah AJ had a proper meltdown, boxing is as much emotional as it is physical

Hopefully Fury mans up and takes on Usyk now.

Yes! I think he'll be in demand more than he has been since Ruiz 1.

I had it 117-111. 116-112 fine too. The 115-113 to AJ js unsurprising. I expected it.
Much better fight than the first
He acted like a fking moron afterwards. Loved every minute of it.
Amazing from Usyk again.
Eddie was broken there and pulled out the 'be happy' line......

Re: Round-by-Round: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - 20 August 2022
Good fight, better than the first one, had Usyk winning 116-112, I thought Joshua performed a lot better this time as well, never fully cut loose enough but had a clear plan to target the body of Usyk and had success, couldn't land clean much to the head though at all, Usyk oozed class as he does, the movement, the angles, the punch picking and stamina all on top form, hit Joshua with clean jabs and lefts, his body work was immense as well, not very often you see so much body punching in a heavyweight fight especially from both fighters
Joshua did go for it in the late rounds but got hurt and faded for the most part, Usyk landed some big clean punches from all angles but Joshua stood up well to them, there was a lot to like from Joshua tonight,, showed some noticeable changes but Usyk was just better , an amazing athlete

He might get away with it.
Let’s see how he rebuilds.

I thought AJ did a lot better tonight but he could fight Usyk a 100 times and he'd never win. Bit wierd at the end though. Usyk saying I want to fight Fury or no one else was interesting, will Fury fancy it?
Re: Round-by-Round: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - 20 August 2022
I don’t think most people will be caring too much about the post fight spectacle after a couple days.
And I still think Fury v Joshua is a massive fight after tonight.

i didnt think usyk was too hurt in the 8th (or was it the 9th) tbh. stung for sure, but it was more that he backpeddles when a guy gets aggressive and josh really went at him there. if you watch the replays, nearly every shot missed
Re: Round-by-Round: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - 20 August 2022
Just noticed that Usyk had no idea what AJ was saying as nobody was translating for him
Re: Round-by-Round: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II - 20 August 2022
116-112 Usyk. Better from AJ, but needed to be balls to the wall, Bruno style in the clinches, big shots early etc.
I think Fury would rag doll Usyk personally, it wouldn't be technical. But it needs to happen.
