I had the first fight 8-4 and this 9-3 and apart from the round AJ dominated (then got dominated straight away in the 10th) and a few body shots (that I’m not sure hurt Oleksandr as much as Sky thought) he was pretty much dominated.

Looked more focused… obviously put a lot in that prep but lost very comfortably. Wasn’t especially taxing that for Usyk. That fight goes 15 rounds he stops AJ.

Usyk’s style is definitely all wrong for Joshua. Doesn’t do the inside mauling that Fury can do, and doesn’t have the kind of dominating jab that someone like Lewis had, which could theoretically just keep Usyk at bay all night. AJ needs to go down a different path, whatever happens.

usyk being so fit is what makes it hard for bigger guys to wear him down, they just cannot get at him enough to do the necessarly damage and take the wind out of him

one thing though, anyone looking to impose themselves should defo look at the success aj had when he focused on the body

That's smart, because if he says he's happy to fight anyone else it takes the pressure of Fury, who'd just hang fire and let him wear himself out against them. This way it's clear Fury doesn't want it if there's no fight.

And I still think Fury v Joshua is a massive fight after tonight.

One thing I noticed from the radio commentary was that Joshua doesn't seem to throw combinations like, say, Rocky Marciano for instance.

I'm glad that Usyk put it out there that the only fight worth having would be between him and Tyson Fury. The Ukrainian is in a similar position that Gene Tunney was in back in the 1920s, because other than Jack Dempsey there really was nobody out there to compete with (one could argue George Godfrey) but the fact remains if Tyson Fury defeated Deontay Wilder basically three times and Usyk defeated Joshua twice, anyone else would just be a let down.

I will say that I'm glad that I was wrong in my prediction that Joshua would gas out and that Usyk would stop him. The switching of trainers has really made Joshua a more well conditioned athlete. Some people are always going to have your number no matter what and I think when it comes to the Ukrainian Joshua just would always have a difficult time.

And yes I think Tyson Fury will take the match strictly because he said before weeks ago that if Joshua loses it would be up to Fury to bring all the belts back home to England. As for Joshua I think the only avenue he's got is to pursue the winner of Wilder-Helenius.

Yeh. I feel Usyk had a better round 10 than Joshua had round 9.

He has never fought anyone near as good as Uysk.
It's easy to look good against a one trick pony with no defense, or a shop worn champ who never pulled the trigger over 12 rounds, but Uysk is a whole 3 levels above that.
