Right then. What do you think will happen going forward? Will these two ever get it on?

I think it'll happen still. A tad like Khan v Brook.

It's getting more unlikely to happen now.
Fury will want a huge pay day for Usyk .. and another for the rematch 12mnths later.

With that type of money generated/earnt for him, plus the years it'll take to do .. I am not sure Fury will be able to keep it together long enough; he seems to be imploding at the moment.

Agree I think that boats sailed now ,, unless Fury decides Usyk might be too hard , and just want to beat AJ easier ,, you just don't know with the guy , he'll probably be divorcing his wife and putting his kids in foster homes next week so he can join a monastry , week after he'll change his mind and take them on a jungle safari to blackpool ,, guy seems a bit bi polar

It’s ridiculous that Britain had the 2 top heavyweights in the world for years, and they never fought. I blame Fury for sure, he’s had a fvcking weird career. Joshua, for all his faults, has never ducked anyone.

Very short window when they might have been considered top two considering Fury's long lay off/ first retirement and Joshua's loss to unranked sub Ruiz.

After Fury handles Usyk, it'll be the next biggest fight. However, not the most competetive for the Gypsy King.

Yep never even considered offering Wilder step aside money, he announced the Joshua fight was on the exact same day the arbitration ruled in Wilder's favour after months of contradictions, £150 mill pot from the Saudis and still chose to beat up on a guy he'd already just knocked out

Fury v Joshua would be a massive fight, regardless of the result last night. Joshua is clearly a sizeable threat.

It’s not like Fury can boast of a win over Usyk himself. There will be plenty out there who think he’d lose to the Ukrainian.

Mate do you not see Usyk's head and upper body movement? you reckon Fury just gonna pop away with the jab outside easy? Usyk is competitive with everyone, best technician Fury fought is 40 year old Wlad who put in a feeble showing, not knocking the win but it wasn't high level, Joshua showed more skill against Usyk last night than Klitschko showed that night, while I admit Fury had more levels to go that night and just didn't show them because he didn't need to but the whole masterclass theory is nonsense

Best case scenario Usyk ices Fury then sails off into sunset and let's Fury and Joshua fight for the scraps

How can Usyk deal with Fury? He is a great technician, but Fury isn't worse, while he has more tricks in the pocket, which are bad for Usyk. The Ukrainian has always felt uncomfortable when he was roughhoused, but he had never been roughhoused by someone that good in it.

I see Fury employing tactics like he did in the 2nd and 3rd Wilder fight where he will lean all over Usyk, hold him with one arm and hit him with the other.
While AJ was the bigger man, he doesn't know how to maximise his height and weight advantages like Fury.
In fact AJ is a bit lost on the inside whereas Fury is a master at the dark arts.

I think it's an interesting match up of styles between Usyk and Fury and you can visualise scenarios where both Usyk or Fury can win the fight.

What's clear is that technically and tactically they are light years ahead of anyone else in the division.

When your opposition is an old Pulev, inconsistent and out of shape Ruiz, an older inactive Klitschko, etc why would you duck them? Was one of the easiest pathways to the title I've ever heard about in heavyweight history and his title defenses were not much better than Wilder's opposition.

Granted that Fury was able to defeat Usyk, which I think Fury can although it won't come easy, and provided that Joshua was able to defeat somebody in the interim that was worthwhile (perhaps the Wilder-Helenius or Ruiz-Ortiz winner) then it would be a big fight.

Joshua's erratic behavior after losing to Usyk has become bigger than the fight itself. Fight fans are not really all that forgiving of people who not only tried to steal away the winners thunder, but who made the media narrative all about himself the next morning because of his antics.

That being said, Jesus willing Tyson Fury is able to defeat the Ukrainian I think the idea of a Joshua fight makes virtually no sense at all because it would be more than clear that Fury was the best man of his era.

I can see Tyson Fury retiring after Usyk and try to be a part of the promotional venture to try to put the belts back on Joshua perhaps that way the titles remain in England--- kind of like Rocky Marciano saying that Floyd Patterson was a part of the heavyweight tournament to take his titles.

Would I like to see Fury continue on boxing for a few more years, sure, but beyond the Ukrainian and Joshua there really is no point and staying around unless Fury fought Ruiz on Cinco de Mayo or something just for an easy payday.

Fury is far worse technically than Fury, it's an excellent match up, I'm not saying Usyk pisses it by any stretch but c'mon how can you even compare skills, Fury isn't the heavyweight Pernell Whitaker people proclaim him to be, he's been on his arse several times, Fury technically better than Wilder sure, more fluid than Joshua absolutely but Usyk is the most skilled boxer in the division bar none, slow starter for sure and had a couple rough moments last night but always came back with big rounds after, champion mentality, Fury offers something totally different to Usyk but I've no doubt after a training camp Usyk has the IQ to adapt, in saying that Fury is no mug so I'm still on the fence at the minute

A 39yo Wlad is a far better technician and far more skillful that the AJ of last night and he's a better technician than anyone Usyk has faced too. A 41yo Wlad was outboxing and outworking a prime AJ when he was stopped. Are we forgetting Wlad barely lost a round for about a decade?

I'd give Usyk the advantage in stamina over Fury but Fury's stamina is far far better than AJs. Fury has 7 inches in reach, 4-6 inches in height. Both are great technicians. Speed is hard to gauge as Fury is fast. Fury is stronger and a better infighter.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I think we may get a truly competitive great HW contest for all the marbles.

Of course, Usyk is a nearly perfect boxer, a polished one, but Fury is still better. Furthermore, Usyk isn't the Sweet Pea either, he got hit clean too, remember Briedis, Gassiev and even Chisora with Joshua. Possibly he just has a better chin than Fury.
