Another bore fest
Suitably cringey antics afterwards
Usyk is dull
Aj is hype
Saudi Arabia was a political and human rights toilet to have as a venue
I'm glad this is all over

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II | DAZN - August 20, 2022
I would be surprised if Fury fights him, demanding $500 mil?
Usyk is definitely more skilled, but is hittable. Fury has a huge advantage in reach and size, something people scream at with lower weights. Wasn't Wallin a south paw too? Might be a factor too.
It's easy to out-box someone like Wilder, but Usyk skill-wise is above Fury. If Fury wins, it will be mauling, foul-filled event,. Like I've said before, a sustained body attack on Fury the first half of the fight is the key to beating him. It comes with a risk, but Usyk could do it with his good footwork and ring intelligence. It's a foolish strategy head hunting Fury.

Sorry Usyk fans, but Usyk has little to no chance of beating Fury. If you're going to base your reasoning on Usyk beating Fury or even making the fight close because he narrowly beat Joshua is very strange.
Joshua is too proper in the ring and didn't show the urgency early in the fight. Joshua like in the first fight was content with keeping the fight in the middle of the ring allowing Usyk to work. Terrible game plan and the definition of insanity. Joshua rarely pushed forward, did little to nothing to make Usyk feel uncomfortable with the size disparity. Joshua should have known he didn't have the gas tank to match Usyk down the stretch, showing no urgency in the early rounds is fornicating bizarre.
Tyson Fury beats up and mauls Usyk with little to no effort. Wouldn't even doubt Fury stops Usyk.

The pace of the fight was quite impressive, even moreso after watching some of the slow motion antics in the Hrgovic and Zhang tussle.
It must have been hot and humid in Jeddah last night as both HW fights were marred by the sheer amount of sweat gathering on the canvas.
Zhang was even complaining to the ref and he eventually slipped and fell at one point. It looked as if he injured himself in the groin area and that was the last thing thing he needed at that late point.
I can't remember seeing a boxing ring that looked so dangerous underfoot like that before.
Surely there's something better available than getting some guy out there on all fours with a towel trying to mop it up?
In any case AJ showed great stamina and great chin last night. The new training regimen under Robert Garcia seems to have done him a lot of good. AJ looked younger and faster than he has for ages.
Unfortunately, that's about as far as the good news from his corner went.
Just why they kept telling Joshua that he was winning every round isn't clear.
It now seems as if all the non stop bullshit coming from his own corner, ie that he deserved the win, was what finally tipped AJ over the top after the fight.
Good for Joshua, as this is no time to be surrounded by yes-men.
Usyk said he only wants Fury, but Fury has never shown any interest in being given an humiliating boxing lesson in public. There's no doubt he knows who the better boxer is.
If Fury had somehow been in there last night he'd been better off fighting Zhang. Neither AJ or Usyk would have given him much time for his usual breathers.
4 fights in and Usyk keeps on improving at HW.
If AJ had won, Fury might have considered a comeback, but as things stand it looks as if he's going to vacate his WBC belt and remain retired from HW boxing.
The same seems likely from Usyk too. I can't blame him, it's got to be either Fury or a third bout with Joshua at some later point.
Nothing else makes sense.

Joshua is so basic. The previous lesson didn't help. This one won't either. You won't teach an old dog new tricks.

Glen Feldman who scored it for Joshua was confronted backstage. But he let his ‘supervisor’ take the wrap. I mean how do you let your supervisor explain how you scored the fight

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua II | DAZN - August 20, 2022
“He actually did well. He came a little short, but that’s boxing,” said Mikey Garcia to spam about Anthony Joshua’s loss to Oleksandr Usyk. “He’s a very good fighter, very difficult southpaw, and moves a lot, difficult to hit.
“He went in there and did what he had to do,” said Mikey about Usyk. “But even as it is, I think it was a very close fight. You can make an argument that maybe a round one way could have made the difference.
“Wilder can still fight. Maybe get a fight or two and regain that confidence and get back in training in the fight game. After that, maybe he’ll be ready to challenge the big names again.
“He’s always going to be a threat to the heavyweight division with the power he has, he’s always a threat. There are a lot of options for him.
“Like I said, maybe a fight or two get into the rhythm of things and then make that decision about the big fights. There are definitely a lot of fights that he can definitely partake in and still win.
“He’s always going to be a threat. Someone that has the power that he does will always be a threat, even into the last minute of the last round. You can never count out a guy like that. He being so hurt, get still rocked Fury a few times, even being hurt.
“All it takes is one shot to turn the fight around, swings the momentum, and before you know it, he wins.
“That’s a difficult fight for Usyk due to the size, and Fury is actually a very well-rounded fighter that can use the distance. He’s good at using the distance and the height, and reach.
“That’s a more complicated fight for Usyk, but Usyk is going to be trouble for everybody because he’s not an easy target. He moves well, lots of head movement, southpaw stance, tricky like that. He’ll always be a difficult fight for anybody,” said Mikey.

For the last ten or eleven months, I thoroughly expected Usyk to beat Joshua again comfortably, but the media coverage of the fight compelled me to suffer from a last-minute change of heart.
I always expected Usyk to outbox AJ, but I somehow felt that Joshua would score a lottery-winning KO against the run of play.
And I was clearly wrong. I should have stuck to my guns.
That said, I feel that Tyson Fury can beat Oleksandr Usyk. And I have never believed otherwise.

Anyway I'm glad you got the chance to watch Usyke out-class Joshua AGAIN, though by now sadly I'm sure you have concocted some story in your head explaining that he actually hasn't lost to usyk at all, not once neevr mind twiceBroughtonRulesRefuge wrote: ↑13 Aug 2022, 20:53Counter-puncher wrote: ↑09 Aug 2022, 05:14but it was against fighters so much slower than Usyk, I'm not sure the early performances give any indication whatsoever of how he might fare against Usyk. I mean, even if Usyk wasn't the boxer he is, on movement alone i'd give AJ a few rounds before he could close him down, just on Usyk making those big slow feet chase him. And he's Usyk.
he's gonna slap him silly again IMO, a one round fire fight would be nice but he would literally need Usyk to cooperate with him, stand and trade
if Usyk chooses to box I don't think there is a power on earth could make AJ stop him in one. or even trouble him much. too big a gulf in class and skill IMO.
- If Usyk shows any more class and skills than in his first fight with AJ, the event crew is gonna have to shopVac Usyk's mug off the canvas for your growing Splatter Art Collection![]()
The shame of the shameless may be boundless, but praise the heavens above we have a real fighter willing to man up to AJ for a great fight.

anyway fvck it, this man actually says Joshua is a better boxer than Usyk. he's beyond help, clearly.

There's levels in boxing and having first watched Hrgovic v Zhang followed by Joshua v Usyk, they were clear to see.
Given the conditions, the sheer relentless pace of the main event was impressive.
AJ didn't quite channel Mike Tyson like he wanted to but he got closer this time than ever before.

well tbf, if you add up the scores, they are 344-340 for usyk, meaning out of a total of 684 points he only beat aj by 4 points, meaning usyk won by only half of a percent. so it was basically an even fight. and a basically even fight could be scored either way, so really it's a draw or even an aj win if we're fair about itCounter-puncher wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022, 11:26so anyway Usyk clearly outboxed Joshua AGAINBroughtonRulesRefuge wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022, 10:50

So I love that from the first fight, Joshua was well on his way to stopping Usyk, until, until, until Usyk punched him really hard in the face causing a serious injury. Which, is, uh, how you win fights. But somehow a terrible stroke of bad luck for AJ, like a fluke really. No way if he got in with Usyk again that he’d just get outboxed for 12 rounds. Not if he didn’t get an eye injury, the only thing that stopped him winning last time from stopping a fighter who’s never been stopped, or looked like getting stopped, or even hurt, really.
But yeah
