Joshua and Garcia

Post by big lennox »

Just read an interview with Garcia saying that he felt Joshua was ahead going into the 10th round and that he felt that Joshua lost the fight mentally.

He then added that Uysk is mentally stronger than Joshua.

Hmm, I don't appreciate someone's trainer criticising their fighter like this in public. Seems disloyal to me and won't do his fighter's confidence any good whatsoever.

He told AJ at the end of round four that he was winning.
When he should have said " pick up the pace" or something.
Nothing like letting your guy coast thinking he is winning, when he clearly isn't :witzend:
Is it any wonder AJ had his big rant at the end?
According to Garcia he had it in the bag!

I reckon AJs main goal with his new team was to cut costs

And so he should , Hearn i just read says Joshua will be out 4 times over next 12 months ,, thats fine its gonna make him a lot more money but if he trains the same he won't win any of them UNLESS there cherry picked ,, facts are facts , i've said it and others have said it for years , he has no stamina , he gets a C for skills , a A for power and a D for stamina , In fact i would give him a U unsatisfactory for stamina .

He does'nt need arse lickers , he does'nt need technical coaches , he needs to be trained in short sharp fast bursts with minimum time for recovery , and short and sharp again , he needs to spar lots of super middle and light heavys , fast and sharp , who keep him constantly moving and punching , it takes time and he needs to spend the time doing it , and STAY OFF THE WEIGHTS .. He has the other attributes needed its the stamina thats needed ,, and i cannot for the life of me understand how these highly paid coaches hav'nt worked it out ,, i don't need to be told he's a monster , big men like him can't do it ., for fook sake look at Fury even look at the chinese guy and his opponent the fight before he can do it BUT not with people licking his arse , he needs someone who's going to tell him to do has he's told and tell the rest of the team to FOOOK OFF , without that , couple more meltdowns and then retirement .

For Fook sake i've had ameteurs jump out of the ameteurs into 6 rounders ,, 6 by 3 , and been told by super dooper wizz coaches thats too much , my answer was always , there not turning pro to earn 2 min rnd money , they train with 10 rnd fighters and all train the same , course they can do it ,, had fighters who can and have done a 10 rnd war and then could do it again if needed an hour later , this guy is a world champ ex olympic champ and he can't do 8 rnds at pace , its his training , only thing needs to be explained is whose fault is it ,, can't tell me Mckracken does'nt know it , he trained Froch who would win fights because he had stamina to burn and still ko you in the 11th... So what happenned you can only summise AJ told Mckracken what he's doing or his new found pad man took over and fooked it up who knows

I don't know but i know one thing unless he changes training completly he maty has well give it away , go sit on the beach in Dubai
Joshua will hire another yes man. His ego can not handle a trainer who will hurt his feelings.
He has been surrounded by yes men his entire pro career and he will continue to do so

Yes, sorry, I should have been more precise. I've always believed that you praise colleagues in public and if there is a problem you criticise behind closed doors. I can't believe that Garcia is undermining Joshua like this. I don't think it is mental weakness. He fought hard and lost to an all time great boxer. Its like losing to Mark Selby or Ronnie O'sullivan in snooker. No shame in it whatsoever.

Aye, pretty much agree with this, esp the Garcia stuff.

I’m not quite of the same mind re the all time great stuff. Usyk is an atg cruiser but there’s a good argument to be made that he’s hardly that as a heavy. All depends how highly you rank Joshua.

Thought Joshua fought ok and better than last time. I just don’t think he’s ever been a genuine top quality heavyweight tbh

The "Brilliant AJ" Wolverhampton Yes Man was replaced by Garcia.
Joshua will be scouring the globe for another Yes Man.
