Jack London died in 1916.
looks like it may possibly be Gunboat Smith (?)
Maybe Jack London was promoting his novel
A PIECE OF STEAK (published in 1909)
BTW Did you know that the reason Gene Tunney supposedly quit boxing
was just after he read THE GAME (published in 1905)
BTW are you sure that is Jack London the famous American writer ?
the dude in the photo looks bald-headed
and every photo I have seen of Jack London he has practically a mop of hair on his head.
or did he wear a rug ?
( looks more like Bull Montana there )
BTW to all of the American Chaps here.
I just had to find the answer to my own question to this ,because I was temporaly confused having been an American
all of my life.
The dude pictured above is "Jack London" a British boxer and British HW Champion
(and father of British HW Champion Brian London.)
and Not the famous writer who wrote Call of the Wild(1903) ,White Fang ( 1906). The Abysmal Brute (1913) among many other things
He was a decent lump but man he looks lean there. Really lean. I would guess he was the old cruiserweight really. Far too big to make light heavy. He was much bigger than Mills, for example.
both photos were of Woodcock ?
how come then, the first one the dude looks about 6 ft 5"
and the second photo , the dude looks about 5 ft 10" ?
I also noticed in the film that Jimmy Wilde
looks to be wearing the same type of boxing trunks as the photos.
