It's nothing to do with being 'woketards' or feeling the need to support women's boxing. It's just that the main event is a well matched fight and it should be fun.

I'm skimming through the thread and it's odd how bothered people are by this.

It's a boxing match at the end of the day.

The main event is probably the most entertaining matchup in woman's boxing right now. It is main event worthy, not PPV worthy, but definitely main event.
Of course it could turn out crap, if Shields doesn't engage and pillow fists pot shots and ties up, once she gets a taste of the power Marshall brings.

A week to go and plenty of tickets being offered about - will be interesting to see how full it is come fight night.

Are the tickets cheap for a ‘big’ show?

Looks to be seats available for all sections except ringside. Can't say I looked at the prices.

I like the idea.

My wife is more likely to watch the women's boxing, then, in turn, more likely to watch the mens.

I'm not massive on women's boxing, but I'll watch it when it's on. More coverage the better, I reckon.

Am
I alone in thinking Mayer v Baumgardner is the better fight?

Super feather is one of the premier divisions for the women. Once you get up to Welterweight it seriously thins out.

I could watch this quite happily if I had a live feed with no pundits or commentators. I’m no technical expert but I can see that the ladies are nowhere near men skill wise but that doesn’t necessarily mean the fights won’t be entertaining.

What I find completely unwatchable is the way Sky will try to convince us that the often slightly pudgy, slow and relatively unskilled girls we’re watching are elite, highly skilled operators, comparable to world class male boxers. From start to finish it’ll be cliche after cliche parroted by cheerleaders who’ll say anything to protect their place on the pundit’s gravy train.

Furthermore what I find absolutely reprehensible is the way Sky are promoting this card as a great step forward for women’s rights, a hugely important landmark moment in the quest for gender equality rather than a woke points scoring exercise. I dunno if Smith or the Sky execs have ever been in an amateur gym but they’ve been full of girls for over 20 yrs now.

It’s sold poorly. Would be less than 5,000 sold tickets in there. They’ve given away loads of free tickets. They’ve offered free tickets for youngsters to many boxing clubs around London (and maybe wider too).
Which London clubs have got free tickets?

BOXXER has entered into an arrangement with England Boxing so that every EB registered amateur who BUYS a ticket will be able to sit together in a specified section, and £5 will be donated to clubs for equipment?

Hardly an initiative that will work if free tickets are being thrown about?

BTW, this will be airing on Sky Showcase!

So no extra cost of having the sports channels.

I’m not sure. My friend was telling me about as his lad and a load of his mates had got free tickets. I’ll try and find out.

I couldnt care less about the undercard. But im looking forward to seeing the most obnoxious person in boxing get knocked out.

If it goes to the cards, i smell robbery. Corrupt officials love a dodgy draw so they can milk a rematch

Last two fights are really good on paper. The undercard will probably be diabolical. Sky really need a Marshall win.

I haven't paid my mate yet so I forget the price but yeah, they're cheap. Especially considering the upper tier isn't open so the view of the action should be decent.

Overall it's a bad idea.

T Rex vs The Silent Assasin and Mayer vs The Bomb are great fights, but being "all female" sets it up to fail.
I'm excited for this w/e but dreading the undercard.
