Old man Ortiz is resilient though. Taking the 8th rd on most cards to cut the pt lead to 3 with 4 to go.

Ruiz likely snagging the 9th round. 4 pt lead with 3 rounds to go. Ortiz is going to have to land a little touch of sleep to get this fight. At least has to put Andy down.

10th round to Ortiz cutting the lead to 3 with 2 rounds to go. He needs some magical power to show up though. Some cards may be even wider for Ruiz too.

Ruiz slams the door on everything besides about a KO for Ortiz taking the 11th. Had Ortiz hurt again.

Game over Rover....Andy Ruiz took over. Stayed up the whole time and won by 3-5 pts probably on every card.
Wilder or Joshua 3 next. Ruiz needs to be in big fights.

If Ortiz was 30 years younger he walks thru Ruiz. and I am a Ruiz fan for entertainment purposes.
Re: Round-by-Round: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz - September 4, 2022
How badly out of shape was Ruiz that the couldn't finish a chinny Ortiz?
Sad fight, the only shot at any title Fat Andy deserves is king of the buffet
Re: Round-by-Round: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz - September 4, 2022
Ruiz is as 2nd tier as it gets and is in the Right division at the right time where everyoe aside from the top 2 is 2nd tier. He will be in on some entertaining fights.Kronkpride wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:18 Game over Rover....Andy Ruiz took over. Stayed up the whole time and won by 3-5 pts probably on every card.

Credit to Ortiz too....he is not shot even if old. He took some heavy duty shit early and recovered and even took some heavy dudty shit late and stayed on his feet. Responded back winning rounds pretty much every time after getting thumped too.
Team Ortiz should stay on the gas too and get him into the biggest fight possible next after he recovers from this. That 11th round shot on the eye looked evil man. Sure looked like it caused some damage.

You described it exactly. You can still see his skill and that he is still quite talented, but his legs are playing a different game in a different era.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:22 ortiz's legs are gone, dude gets dropped by jabs and wobelled by anything clean these days. you could see he could still box a bit, but just not durable enough

I think Ortiz needs to graciously retire to avoid being the gate keeper who gets beat by young pups every tie out so he can be added to their resumeKronkpride wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:22 Credit to Ortiz too....he is not shot even if old. 2nd tier when he defeats himself by not being ready. When he is ready he is a beast and has a chance with anyone in the world. Even Fury. Ruiz is the real deal with a good beard, power and know how. Not many guys today have all 3 going for them.BROZO wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:21Ruiz is as 2nd tier as it gets and is in the Right division at the right time where everyoe aside from the top 2 is 2nd tier. Ortiz is shot to buggery and back.Kronkpride wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:22 Credit to Ortiz too....he is not shot even if old. Fat Andy only landed half a dozen right hands and half of them knocked Ortiz down.

now is a good time for ortiz to retire. he went out with dignity and won the last round. he boxed fairly well but cant hold a shot anymore. he's only getting older and will get badly hurt if he continues
remember charles martin was bouncing him off the canvas the fight before too

like i said, ruiz has no workrate or tank. he usually fights super slow paced. same for ortiz. then they both gassed and had no steam on their shotsgregregegg wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:29 fornicate shocked that went 12. All of which, in boxing language, means that he's got a good 5-6 years left in himmargaret thatcher wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:29 now is a good time for ortiz to retire. he went out with dignity and won the last round. he boxed fairly well but cant hold a shot anymore. he's only getting older and will get badly hurt if he continues

"If" and I know in real lifes if's mean nothing, Ortiz stays on his feet, he wins this on points. thats tells you where Ruiz really stands. He had a fairy tale Lucky punch win, has never been close to that moment and will probably never will again. He is talented, quick handed but is also fat, small and limited, He can sneak by old men that have tons of heart like Arreola and Ortiz. but taht is in. imho

I had it 113 112 Ortiz
Re: Round-by-Round: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz - September 4, 2022
Boxing Scene scored that 112-113 Ortiz.
Re: Round-by-Round: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz - September 4, 2022
If he was shot here, then he was shot both times he fought Wilder. This was the best version of Ortiz I've seen outside of the two Wilder fights.KiwiRider wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:27Ortiz is shot to buggery and back.Kronkpride wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:22 Credit to Ortiz too....he is not shot even if old. Nobody is what they once were when they get up in age. But he was no can and his recovery was better than most young men when hurt with some wicked shots. Ortiz legs didn't melt and stay melted. He carried himself through 10 more rounds after being toasted early. He was in shape and he is not a shot to bits guy. Just old and not what his best was.KiwiRider wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:27Ortiz is shot to buggery and back.Kronkpride wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 00:22 Credit to Ortiz too....he is not shot even if old. I still think he can make some money and get some wins at HW today. He needs to go quick though. Right back at a top guy when he is ready to go. Let his career end when someone finishes him. Which Ruiz did not do. Ortiz survives this to fight another top guy on another day to me.
