I thought the same. However, they might fight to a draw in 1977, but the prime Hagler would dominate prime Valdes behind his southpaw jabs, combinations and right hooks to either take a decision or late round stoppage.

All the toughness would be there for Marvin, but I think Rodrigo Valdes would pull out a close decision in the championship rds and win by around 2 pts, mainly on the basis of experience.
