Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
Yeah - it’s not as good as McCall’s. None are. It’s closer to that end of the scale though than that of Pele Reid. If McCall is a 10 and Reid is a 0 then I’d put Tyson at a 7.5 with a 10 for recovery.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 12:49His chin is nowhere near the level of McCall, who took full blooded bombs from big Len without even blinking. Even way past his best he was going the distance with much younger fighters.maverick23 wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 11:13Tyson is much closer to McCall than Reid. Tyson may get dropped but I don’t think I’ve seen a fighter recover better from a knockdown than him.deadpan wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 11:05 Fury's defensive skills are very over rated, hence the untutored Wilder dropped him four times. And on the spectrum of bulletproof chins between Pele Reid and Oliver McCall Tyson is somewhere in the middle. I think at the very least Joshua wobbles him at some point if it happens.
He has a decent chin, but nothingoutstanding.
He does have very good powers of recovery though.

According to talk sport it's 7/2 which is a bit skinny IMONightmare Roy wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 13:17I'd say if you are getting odds of 4/1 or better its probably a decent bet

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
I respect and admire Garcia but of course he wants 3-4 fights on the AJ gravy train rather than taking a hugely risky fight against Fury, a loss in which would almost certainly spell the end of his tenure as AJ’s coach.stevec@france wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 12:46sensible approach which will probably be ignored in favour of £££ and short term expediency .Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 10:11 Robert Garcia wants AJ to take 3-4 fights before he fights Fury..
Undoubtedly more time with Garcia will see AJ improve but 3-4 fights for a mega star like AJ in this day and age might eat up two years. I doubt Fury will still be around in 2 years time.

I'm slightly flabbergasted some posters are placing Fury's chin in the top echelon of boxers, I'd have it lower/mid tier. He is a master of not getting banged too often, through ringcraft and being unbelievabley meddling. His long non muscular levers seem octopus like in tieing opponents up, must frustrate the f*ck out of them the struggle to land a clean shot. I'm not convinced his chin is up to that much, his evasiveness to protect it is top notch however.

If this goes ahead, it's AJ's last fight.
Can't seem him being happy with being relegated to definite, minimum third in the division.
Chances of him winning have got to be slim to none. No way he's smart or skilled enough to adapt to Fury. His only way to win is to land some serious bombs. Can't see it. Fury mauls him. I can see it being dull and ugly. Almost a certainty that AJ loses, but realistically, he's got nowhere else to go.
If AJ does win, where does that leave Usyk? Can't see him wanting a beaten Fury, and don't think anyone else stacks up.

Fury hasn’t the best chin in the world.
He can be floored as he has been many times.
His recovery however is better than most.
He’ll finish the fight as if he wasn’t even floored.

Sounds like it will go ahead. For me, this will always count against Fury's legacy. He has swerved Uysk. I also remember earlier in his career, he swerved David Price when he was knocking everyone out.

He said he'll be ready for Feb.
Don't blame him, he wants to e 100% I guess for the undisputed fight.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - December 2022?
I don't think Fury can be criticised at all if he faces Joshua next.
Whilst it would be nice to know who is top at the moment .. facing Joshua will build perfectly towards that.
If Fury beats Joshua we get a clear top 2 guys.
If Joshua beats Fury we know Usyk is top ànd Fury is 3rd.

Completely agree. All this 'blown up middleweight' guff is a smokescreen. Usyk's the one imponderable for Fury.big lennox wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 06:44 Sounds like it will go ahead. Usyk probably making a point of not playing Fury's game and being messed about by him.big lennox wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 07:32Uysk is now going to box Wilder, so I don't think we will ever get Fury vs Uysktonyevs wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 07:24 I don't think Fury can be criticised at all if he faces Joshua next.

Usyk holds more belts and increasingly getting more respect than Fury .. maybe building to summer 2023

I’d be ok with it. Fury has ruled it out as his next fight. When Tyson won the 3 belts at heavy for the first time his next 2 fights were Seferi and Pianeta. If Usyk goes AJ/Wilder then he won’t be getting loads of stick.mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 15:00But he will obviously get loads of stick if he fights Wilder?tonyevs wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 13:38Usyk probably making a point of not playing Fury's game and being messed about by him.big lennox wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 07:32

What has Tyson got to do with this? Also, Usyk isn't coming off a long break.

The thread is called Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua. And Fury has ruled Usyk out as his next opponent so if Usyk can’t fight him then Wilder is a decent replacement.mickey1975 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2022, 16:36 What has Tyson got to do with this? Also, Usyk isn't coming off a long break.
