Listened to it on the radio. Bunce did well to get from Bolton to Vegas so quickly. How many more viewers did Lyndon Arthur get tonight than Canelo. I'm guessing x50

An unnecessary bout as expected. Golovkin should retire.

Rodriguez vs Gonzalez was a fun scrap, had Rodriguez running out a 117-110 in the end but a bit of a gut check for Rodriguez, didn't have it all his own way and had to show something different than what's he's been showing, Gonzalez again showing what a hard bastard he is, he attacked the body of Rodriguez early and had plenty of success, he took a couple rounds on my card and Rodriguez struggled to get to grips with him, Gonzalez just kept pushing out the punches, Rodriguez had to bite down and take the fight to him, got a bit dangerous with the low blows, got a point off and should've had another off late
Rodriguez is class though he just kept grinding, working and putting it on Gonzalez, making him fight at all times, walking him down and it became a slog for him down the stretch, Rodriguez was in the groove by the later rounds and poured it on relentlessly, Gonzalez just about hung in there but by the end he was done, Rodriguez showing us he's not just extremely skilled but a warrior as well

I didn’t even bother waking up for the radio commentary in the end, thought it would be too predictable to make an effort for. Reading the reports, looks like I was right. Anyone who bought that PPV must have a lot more money than sense.

119-109 Alvarez, a dominantion, Golovkin just doesn't have it any more to hang with him, couldn't get his shots off, his jab was poor and it was probably still his best weapon, it just wasn't effective as once was, he looked gun shy, couldn't let the right hand go, he did finish in better form than he started but it looked like the last roll of the dice and Canelo easily snuffed him out
The scores far too close, how can the judges be so generous to nearly have Golovkin scraping a draw? Canelo schooled him, controlled him with the hard jab, solid left hooks, didn't work the body like I thought he would, chose to target the long right hand to the body as opposed to digging them in up close, he dominated the centre of the ring and bullied Golovkin back nearly all night, doing as he pleased, as I say Golovkin finished well enough to nowhere near well enough to fluster Alvarez

A shout out to GGG.
Still at his age showing a strong chin.
Canelo landed some bombs on his face at times.
But I think it looks as though they’re bombs, but it’s GGG reaction. Most the times he moves with the punches.
Canelo was probably more worried when the scores where read than he was the whole fight..

Strange fight. I felt Canelo clearly won the fight yet I scored it 7 rounds to 5.
Gave GGG the first and the last 4
Worst fight of the 3

He has been waiting for GGG to retire. Don't know why he feels the need to say anything tbh, concentrate on your own fight init

Feels like the end of an era. Quite sad watching that cos I honestly thought both of them looked to be declining. Gave us many great fights between them and their other opponents.
ggg with a farewell fight, possibly in Kazakhstan? And Canelo to rematch Bivol?
I love Bam Rodriguez so much. If he wins one more this year he’s got to be a lock for FOTY

Bivol doesn't need Canelo again, it would be more of the same. He's too big and good and would stop him.
Re: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Gennadiy 'GGG' Golovkin III - DAZN PPV - 17 September 2022
I sort of agree with you, but part of me would dearly like to see if Canelo can adjust and change things up.
We only have the GGG rematches to go by, and they were 90% GGG's deterioration, not what Canelo did.
So while I agree that Bivol may be a step too far, I would also like to see if Canelo can do better.

No chance Canelo agrees to fight Biv at 175 again. He’ll dangle a huge cash incentive to make the fight at 168 or 170 and of course Biv will accept.
