I think G did a good job for his age. He boxed and tried to not get countered too much by Canelo. Of course he ate some solid clean punches from Canelo but we know that GGG has a cast iron chin.
GGG did land some good punches too but its very hard to hit clean the top of the Canelo's chin.

Golovkin can retire or had another one vs Eubank Jr or Munguia.

On the other hand I don't think Canelo will rematch Bivol, only if somehow Bivol comes down at 168 or they fight at 170 cw with a rehydration clause limit.

Canelo only fights one way - to wear the opponents down - and as we seen its not a style that wins against the stronger Bivol.

I really don`t see why Canelo feels the need to go higher than s-middle. He is undersized at 168lb and showed his greatness to have dominated here so far.

Id still favour him over Eubank Jr, he might have been dispatched easily by Canelo, but Canelo is leagues above the limited Eubank. Of course at his age, you never know what's coming in his next fight, and retirement is probably still the better option.

I think G should retire too. He's tough as cast iron but he should just retire and enjoy life. He made enough money.

But I have the feeling he wants to retire as unified mw champion to solidify his legacy.

I mean , even this version of GGG could walk down a semi-retired guy like Charlo and also Janibek. But all is depending on how much gas G has left in his tank when he's gonna drop down to 160? Also there is Eubank Jr, assuming he beats Benn, which would be a big money fight in Uk for G .

Technically GGG boxed well for his age trying to stay out of Canelo's counters. He didn't got hurt.

He wants it for his legacy. 168 pounders he fought were weak but 175 pounders like Bivol and Beterbiev are strong-elite fighters.

Actually I think Canelo's best win at 168 is a 40 y/o version of GGG which is true imo.
