DAZN are now putting their best fights behind not just 1, but 2 paywalls. On an online only service. With virtually no other sports being carried.
Little wonder they’re struggling to get ‘credit’.

When I saw the thread title I immediately thought Mr Hearn is on a wind up.
Re: Hearn: “Sometimes We Don't Get Credit For Our Fights; We Are Putting On the Biggest Nights”
No doubt Eddie puts on big fights but he fails to put on the very biggest fights and at the right time.

Re: Hearn: “Sometimes We Don't Get Credit For Our Fights; We Are Putting On the Biggest Nights”
I’d agree with you but it’s not solely his fault that the very biggest fights don’t happen. I genuinely believe he tried to make AJ vs Wilder and AJ vs Fury in the past and they didn’t happen for reasons he couldn’t control. Sometimes he does let fights stew for too long.
He does regularly put on big fights though. Have there been bigger fights than AJ/Usyk and Canelo/Golovkin this year? Including those announced for the rest of the year?
Re: Hearn: “Sometimes We Don't Get Credit For Our Fights; We Are Putting On the Biggest Nights”
He must be talking about this Saturday's show from Nottingham, worth every penny for about 6 fights against TBA

I think when it comes to purse bids regarding Eddie/Matchroom , they know what the fight is worth and they'll try to make a deal and they won't pay over odds to get a fight if it reaches purse bids, I'm sure they'll know they'll lose most of the timemickey1975 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 03:09If it suits them. They're terrible in purse bids. Which British fights have they made recently? They have Callum Smith and Buatsi and won't match them.
As for Buatsi he's just come out and said he's been offered the Smith fight

And yet he's headlined several shows on the apparent exposure monster machine that is Sky Sportsmickey1975 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 14:43Buatsi won his medal six years. Perhaps it’s worth him accepting the Callum Smith fight then.mickey1975 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 14:43Buatsi won his medal six years. Whilst I don’t think he’s been well promoted he really hasn’t helped himself. Long holidays and time off after fights plus basing himself in America and not being willing to do much to promote himself makes it difficult to build momentum.
Re: Hearn: “Sometimes We Don't Get Credit For Our Fights; We Are Putting On the Biggest Nights”
Canelo isn't signed to Hearn or DAZN.garethhop wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 05:04 He sounds so desperate. Pressure clearly on.
Canelo fights 2/3 times a year regardless of anyone else, and pretty much everyone gives them loads of credit for the job done with Joshua and the big stadium fights, which they do really well. Although in terms of heavyweights, the best fight in the last year involved Tyson Fury and the biggest event also involved Tyson Fury.
But for DAZN Uk, it was Dalton Smith who headlined their event last month, it's Maxi Hughes/Galahad this month, and it's Katie Taylor and Jordan Gill next month.
On a boxing only subscription channel.
I know Eddie talks like he is, which makes me smile, but Canelo is a free agent as far as I know.

No he didnt. That wasn just some clickbait by that young kid in Twitter.handsofstone wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 14:07I think when it comes to purse bids regarding Eddie/Matchroom , they know what the fight is worth and they'll try to make a deal and they won't pay over odds to get a fight if it reaches purse bids, I'm sure they'll know they'll lose most of the timemickey1975 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 03:09If it suits them. Buatsi said it had been 'proposed'but didnt say by who and said it clearly wasnt going to happn whilst Smith waits for his shot.

He did some great stuff in years gone by, but Sky is a promotional monster.maverick23 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 04:03Sky is certainly the power house but Hearn did a terrific job pushing things too. Who’d have thought Froch would be fighting in front of 80,000 or Bellew would be a big name of British boxing just a few years before.KiwiRider wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 03:55Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 03:48 Sky was the power house, not Hearn or Matchroom, he didnt get the memo.DAZN just hasn't really taken off.
I'm an ex subscriber
Eddie thought he’d bring more to DAZN than he has in the U.K. and likely underestimated the platform Sky had when pushing fights and fighters. Also I’m sure he was being told that DAZN would have other big sporting events added to the U.K. schedule which hasn’t happened either. allegedly showed how difficult it is to run a boxing only channel without losing money.

Always thought we've not really had much to get too excited about ir recent years, from the 2016 Olympic lot....
It's been a bit of a mixed bag really, and I don't think any of them have true star power, they'd already be thriving if they had.
We're probably going to lose Fury and Joshua soon. A lot of these below have been undercard players in the shadows of the stars. Who's the UK's next big thing to get excited about?
Joe Joyce: Silver (super heavyweight) - Unbeaten and on the cusp of world level / title shots but age is against him
Nicola Adams: Gold (flyweight) - Retired after 6 fights
Lawrence Okolie: Round of 16 (heavyweight) - Cruiserweight world champ, put us to sleep initially but has come good somewhat, needs to face the top guys at cruiser.
Joshua Buatsi: Bronze (light heavyweight) - Doesn't seem to have stepped up despite much hype and expectation.
Anthony Fowler: Round of 32 (middleweight) - Dud.
Josh Kelly: Round of 16 (welterweight) - Lost to Avanesyan after an earlier draw.
Savannah Marshall: Quarter-finals (middleweight) - Going well so far.
Joe Cordina: Round of 16 (lightweight) - Wasn't up to much until that spectacular KO earlier this year and now a World champ.
Galal Yafai: Round of 16 (light flyweight) - Had 2 pro fights this year.
Re: Hearn: “Sometimes We Don't Get Credit For Our Fights; We Are Putting On the Biggest Nights”
You know i read this self centred crap drom Hearn and think , Jeezz this guy really does need to be loved . Perhaps when he was a child his father spent that much time away from home and him , building an empire he could pass on to him ,, maybee he would off been a more well adjusted adult if he had recieved love not money ,, his constant need for attention and adulation is not good , i think this guy has some deep seated issues .
But bringing it all back to a small scale its no different than any off us starting a buisness , you have to think about what track you want to go down ,, i first started working sub contracting for builders at a low rate but constant work ,, very soon relized i was just working for them not myself , so changed course started seeking out high end quality work at big prices , but soon relized there was not enough to keep me busy .
Then i got some good advice , it was People don't give you work because they like your face they gve it to you if you do the best job at the cheapest price ,, from there i changed tact , and started giving quality high end work at lower prices ,, did'nt take long and my biggest problem was , people paid for me and got my worker i became so busy , then my biggest task was only employing TOP tradesman and keeping my prices down to affordable , , it was a task , but i done it well enough to suit me , obviously no where near Eddie scale .
BUT the comparison is there , he gave good shows at reasonable prices , good fights and had a big stable , he introduced sweet caroline and the coke heads along with the piss heads made it there night out , it was succesful for him , However he wanted to conquer the world and just like me he is having trouble getting the tradesmen who will work for the money ,, so its up the ppv.s up the prices , take in a partner and watch them screw there customers , i cancelled DAZN last week when they wanted to charge for Canelo , second time i cancelled firts was because they were not showing a lot of the fights overseas got , so stuff em and there subscription i just streamed it .
Now Eddies model s losing flavor he's not giving the better nights he's just like everyone else , you can have the best fights but you pay top dollar .
But he not only wants your money he's demanding your adulation ,, guys got some mental issues if you ask me , , Maybee daddy should step in take over the reins , sell the company ,, and tell poor little Eddie to just go spend time with his kids it will be much more rewarding .. If he gives them love and attention they will adore him forever , he won't need the rest of us to do it then

Nice one Eddie, doing us all favours and looking after the boxing fans.
Let's all queue up to tickle his belly.

That's a good post - actually I had huge hopes for at least 3 of them but I am fearing the three I had the most hopes for are stagnating a tad.Fightnight Scores wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 17:13Always thought we've not really had much to get too excited about ir recent years, from the 2016 Olympic lot....

Galal Yafai: Round of 16 (light flyweight) - Had 2 pro fights this year.
These are/were.
Joe Joyce - It was so obvious he was not Frank's favourite going into the DDD fight and the way he's been promoted since has been terrible. He does have a bit of a make or break fight with Parker - but it really should not have been - he should have been fighting the likes of Whyte / Chisora in final eliminators way before this. The Parker fight might be a stinker.
Joe Cordina - I was always confident he would be a world champion - but not just any champion but a "great" champion in the making. The boy could have some massive appeal, but Eddie has taken the £££ as opposed to the making him a star. I don't care what anyone says - fights in the UAE are less appealing (despite the time zone similarity) than fights in the UK. He has the potential to be a box office star, but not on a streaming service and fighting in Jeddah.
Josh Buatsi - should have long been fighting for a world title.
Re: Hearn: “Sometimes We Don't Get Credit For Our Fights; We Are Putting On the Biggest Nights”
Buatsi has missed the bus , he's long wasted his opportunity , by the time he gets a meaningful fight it will be the time of the next Olympics and his medal will be 8 years old.
Olympic boxers and medallists are now so common they mean nothing. It's the old TV Pointless test, how many of the 16 Olympics boxers would score points ?
Same with 2020 mob, most are just faceless and unknowns unlike Audley and Amir Khan, at least they had recognition

He's been excellent for the sport, but in typical fashion British 'tall poppy syndrome' kicks in and people can't bring themselves to admit it.
People forget just how crap British boxing (on TV) usually was in the immediate era before he came along?

Froch wasn’t on Sky before Hearn came on the scene was he?
I think he means the different promoters on Sky at the time.
We have Hatton Promotions, Dave Coldwell promoting shows too and God knows who else.
